I'm leaning toward the latter. T-Bomb should have taken some clue when Pittsburgh were willing to salvage anything for this tool: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap10...tonio-holmes-facing-doubts-with-new-york-jets I don't know Tomlinson's background. I come from the military background, and I say the SAME thing. Once a quitter, a quitter for life. (I don't want to be fighting next to a quitter in my foxhole, if you know what I mean.)
If people never change then it must apply to him too, since he was one of the biggest quitters of all-time. I'm not saying Holmes isn't a huge turd, but come the hell on. You're not even on the team anymore, keep players name's out of your mouth.
Of course people can change although most don't. LT is suoposedly such a great leader but he did absolutely nothing to help that situation last year. When I hear his answer as to what he did maybe he gets some credibility but for now he's some one who needs to keep his name in the media.
On the one hand, LT is probably right -- Tone has always been a dick, and it seems unlikely that he'll suddenly mature at the age of 28, after 6 years in the league. On the other hand, Tomlinson is not in the Jets locker room anymore, so he's pretty much talking out of his ass. Which, of course, is his job now, but you should still take his comments with a grain of salt.
Everyone has the capacity for change, but Holmes hasn't and I don't expect he will. When Mark threw and off-pass last week you could see his body language was like, "here we go again." I understand the frustration, but that crap has an impact on his teammates and overall morale. He either doesn't understand the effect that has or doesn't care. Either way, I'm sick of it.
I've been out of the military for 10+ years - but that doesn't mean I quit on the job, or I take quitters easily. Also, I've been out of the military for long and I don't live in the barracks any more - and surely, I may NOT know everything that's happening in the barracks in each day, BUT that does not mean I expect the barrack will all of a sudden condone quitters.
People on twitter bashing LT for something that's basically a fact. You see his demeanor on the field.
Holmes attitude is a direct response to what he is allowed to get away with. Give him guaranteed money and he'll act as he wants. Hold him accountable and he may act like an adult. We have to pay him, but we don't have to play him if he doesn't perform.
