Did he pay or was it the team that paid? Not that it makes much of a difference. I would think that it is common practice for an insurance company to be reluctant to pay athletes for injury insurance claims. That sounds like the nature of the beast. I am sure he will eventually get his money or at least they will come to some kind of settlement............... Oh and yes I hope Curtis moves on and retires. No need to be like Earl Cambell and be basically a cripple for the rest of his life.
be realistic, even if Curtis would be ready, he won?t be as dominant as he once was. The best situation i can think of if he?s comming back is a situation like in Pittsburgh when, Bettis had his last year.
Where on earth do you see people 'dogging' Curtis? Every time he restructures, the masses convene at the Alter Of Cmart to pay thanks to the Saint of Magically Appearing Cap Space. Yet every time he restructures, he rakes in a pile of cash that he would not otherwise have seen for years, if ever. The Jets have since made the baffling move of reactivating him after he has sued his insurance company for not covering him for a seemingly career-ending injury, after not stepping foot on the field during a game in about a year and a half. The Jets have all but replaced him on the depth chart with a guy who has a very similar running style. And that is why some people question the motives of the reactivation. It's not bashing, it's speculation over the moves surrounding a guy that has certainly been rewarded in a monetary fashion for personnel moves in the past. I love the guy, but the team is rebuilding and needs to move forward. If these are the moves that need to be taken for him to move into the Gridiron Twilight, fine. If this is smoke and mirrors designed to throw off the gameplans of teams we play early, sweet, although I don't see how it's going to work. Just don't expect people to just sit around and hope he comes back one last time, because it sure as shit ain't happening.
Well, if it pushes his pension back 1 year, good for ME! You see my first son is due October 27'th. So that means he will be 6 not 5 when I take him to Curtis's induction ceremony!
