Sal just said the Jets have not contacted the Saints as of yet.The Jets have too many needs to trade the stockpiled picks they have.Expect them to stay put at 4 -29-35 to fill needs.
im pretty sure the jets arent gonna say anything different even if the did talk with the saints. there not to drive up price anymore.
We need to build a foundation for a player like Reggie. If he falls to us thats great but we have all seen how selling the farm can send a franchise into a hole. With the depth in this draft we should be able to build a solid foundation for a future playmaker. Plus I am not totally sold on Bush. He could be the next Dave Meggett, Eric Metcalf, or Raghib Ismail just as easily as he could be the next Marshall Faulk.
I'm gonna walk on the darkside for a moment and say that this is what sets us apart from the rest. This is just one of the reasons why we always have the complex as Jet fans that we do. There is a player that has talent like we haven't seen in 15-20 years and he is obtainable. We CAN get him. But we will pass. It is ALWAYS some other team that ends up with the star upstart as we sit and watch.
We still have 2 hours before the Aints make their decision/pick. I'm still confident they are targeting DBrick and will come down on their demands when it's time to shit or get off the pot. We will then swoop in and snag Reggie and the crowd goes nuts...
From what I've been reading that's more of the sunshiner perspective. Most "darksiders" seem to be against trading up for Bush.
We have to ask ourselves the following: -How well did trading the entire draft for Ricky Williams work for N.O.? -How well did trading a truck load of picks work for Minnesota to get Herschel Walker? Stay but, JETS. Get a Joseph Addai or Maroney at 29 or 35 and fill other needs with all those picks.
