This is interesting, not just because it's called Jetsflicks. I was going to put it in 'The Golden Stream' thread, but I thought it would get better visibility as its own thread. I never knew about this (!), but hats off to these guys, who are unfortunately going to prison in some charade about what's "morally right". They broke multiple laws, and I'm not sad about that. I'm an artist, and copyrights and trademarks and theft of intellectual property is a very serious thing which can really cripple people, it's very important to me. That's a whole other discussion, but I just wanted to posit that for context. So these 5 guys since 2007 were scouring OTHER pirate sites for content, charging $9.99 a mo., and "screwing" every major network over lost ad revenue . . . only the weren't making any ad revenue. They just kept collecting $9.99 a mo. and made tons of cash. Doesn't matter, they're in big, fat, trouble all these years later. I realize it's not a legal technicality, thanks. The arrests and convictions were because of copyright infringement as if the major networks, Studios, and the heavy hitters give a chuck about screwing over artists and actors. The "masterminds" of Jetsflicks got sloppy in some regards, I admit, and they also got pinched for money laundering. However, this is a Robin Hood Story, not about protecting Studio heads who don't give a shit about anyone. I detest corporate greed. I don't pay for ANYTHING, but if I had known about Jetsflicks, I would have happily forked over $9.99 a month . . . FOR YEARS. I am all for making $ hand over fist, believe it; but this whole idea that railroad robber barons and monopolies are things of the past is bogus. Google, see how I laugh. And I called it Jetsflicks on purpose, the highlights are never good. Jetflicks, that is so hilarious to me, it's like when I buy Hannaford's version of Cream of Wheat . . . it's called . . . drumroll . . . Creamy Wheat.
