something to do with a leg or foot. not sure how serious, but he was down for a little while then limped off. big surprise.
sowell, he absolutely did have a very good game. i don't think anyone questioned his talent, just his heart and ability to stay healthy
BINGO! First game and all, that really sucks for Falcons fans. Hopefully he doesn't need 4-8 games to rebound.
The fact that our Pass rush is anemic yet he had a Great game and you totally overlook that and start a thread that he got hurt is straight up a Hater mentality. Abe's a TOP DE in the NFL that we "Let go". He get's nicked up cause he gives 120% ON THE FIELD. That is undebatable
Finally, someone I can agree with regarding Abe. The reason he gets hurt is because he's flying all over the field on every play. People who don't think he has heart should go watch some game tape and see how many runs he chases down from the backside, or how many times he fights through or around a double team to get some pressure on the QB.
Come on now. The fact that he gives 100% on the field is not the reason he's always getting hurt. There are tons of players who give as much as Abraham does and aren't always injured like he is. Infact, most injuries occur either by accident, or when a player is tentative and not giving 100%.
The guy is undebatebly injury prone. Whether it is because of 120% or lack of heart is very hard to know. Healthy, he's among some of the best in the game, but if he isn't in the game what does that do for you? Nothing.
Can't disagree with that.. I won't, but I will say this. There are just too many haters around. The guy wears a JETS uniform we root for him to do well. PERIOD. I hated Damien Robinson to DEATH because he never gave 100% but I rooted for him to do well . For the TEAMS sake. When a player gives 110% for you play after play day in & day out, there is NO Reason to hate on him. He's a team player and bleeds green. Abe, Chad & Jordan did this and yet all we read is HATE on them. That is just sad. Because they ALL gave 100% and are excellent players. What more can someone want on their team. -Jordan was Hungry to start, the Media fed camp BS , and people ate it up -Abe was Hurt during a playoff game and guys wanted him to play injured. That Hurts more than it helps -Chad doesn't have a Rocket arm (Never needed one) but people want Browning Nagle instead. It boils down to people simply hating players. How can you hate someone who bleeds green?
I will agree with you about hating on players that are wearing green & white. Unless they wear Eagle wings on their helmets... lol You always want your team to do well, including players that you don't necessarily like, just because it affects the team when they perform poorly. But Abe wears different colors now, so if someone wants to cheer for him to do poorly, I say let em be. I could care less one way or another, he's not here now so I don't worry about it. But, if he continues to have the same issues there as he did here (staying on the field), I will at least get a chuckle out of the situation, and I feel better knowing we came out ahead on the deal. Especially when we have a good feeling about our OL in the coming years.
"undebatebly" In the words of Iniego Montoya..."I do not think that words means what you think it means". Do you have something against "undeniable"?
relax, the point of the thread wasn't about how he did in the game, just that he was limping off the field. if you would read all the way down to the THIRD post, I address your concerrns of haterism.
lol... I'm the resident grammarian linguician here mister. We'll get to stomping you fish directly this season. Kindly wait your turn.
John Abraham in Atlanta He had 2 sacks and 2 forced fumbles in yesterdays matchup. Good for him I guess but it just reminds me that when he turned it on, his pass rush was insane.
Sadly for him he also hurt his groin. He says he is fine, but those groin pulls can be tricky. I only wish him the best, he was a great player for us even if he did miss crunch time.
And when he didn't, he spent most of the game running himself out of the play, because he had no repertoire of pass rush moves. Part of being a good player is staying healthy. I have no doubt in my mind that Abraham will be rendered completely ineffective by this injury, and I'll be shocked if he has more than one sack over the next two weeks, PARTICULARLY now that Kerney is hurt. -X-
