    Alright,

Just posting this thread after reading an article over at NFL.com

    Article

Complete disrespect. The man lead the AFC last year, and set Jets franchise records. I think he's got something to prove by not getting a contract. He knows he needs to play hard if he plans on getting a restructured deal, or signing with another team. I can't believe the lack of respect... actually I can; I'm a Jets fan. Here's to hoping we win the division next year and give the entire NFL a big F U!

    its completely understandable.

31 year old who will now be sharing his carries with LW and goal line carries with Greene will see a noticeable drop off in production. The rushing attack as a whole might be just as strong, or may suffer due to the inexperience at QB.

    This isn't a shock.

If Sanchez or Clemens come up big for you guys, he'll have another fine season. I wouldn't expect big numbers in the first few games though. Teams are gonna stack the box and make you guys beat them through the air. It's all up to your QB play.

I can understand where you're coming from with the age thing. I remember reading an interview before last season started, where Jones was talking about how he feels good; like he's got another 3 years left. The man stays in shape. I don't remember an injury in the last 3 years. I'd really like to see Jones/Washington/Green have the same type of attack as Jacobs/Ward/Bradshaw did. I think our RB's are gonna' take this team far this year.

I still think there is a small chance he won't be a Jet come week one.

I can't really argue against that top 15.

Agreed. I don't expect TJ to have a better season than any of the aforementioned 15 'backs.

I agree. The only questions in that top 15 are injurys. All of the bottom 10-15 have issues that could hold them back, but I'm not about to draft TJ in front of any of them in a fantasy league.

Makes sense? No it dosen't, we are team that said we are going to ride the running game. Makes no sense to me. Oh well, the haters are out on full force this season, kinda like last year.

Pretty shitty. T.J. definitely should be in the top 15 projection for this upcoming season.

I think it makes sense. I'd really like to see Leon Washington get ten carries (minimum) per game this year. Hopefully Shonn Greene will be matching that at some point. Some of those touches will be pulled away from passing plays, but others will come from Jones.

Now, if this article had suggested that our overall rushing attack wouldn't be in the top 15, that would be bullshit. But, while we might not be a true running back-by-committee team, Thomas Jones certainly isn't a feature back like the other dudes on this list.

JMO, I expect Barber, Williams, Tomlinson and Westbrook to lose a lot of carries to Jones, Stewart, Sproles and McCoy, respectively.

Yep.....what he said........ 3 good RBs splitting the load + unknown QB contribution and by extension, passing game effectiveness.

He'll have carries taken from him by Washington and Greene. I can understand him not being projected as one of the top backs in 2009

The top 15 is good, I think all those guys will have better years than TJ, barring injury. I think you can make the case, however, that the rest of the guys ahead of him--Smith, Thomas, Addai (Donald Brown), Moreno, and Ward could be below TJ.

At first glance, I was a bit surprised to see MJD, Frank Gore, and Steven Jackson on this list. But was surprised after pulling up their stats from last year.

Frank Gore and Steven Jackson didn't even start a full season due to injury and they both had slightly over 1000+ yds. That's pretty impressive. Especially Jackson who only started 11 games.

So, I hate to say it, I'd love to see Jones up there, but I really can't argue against the 15 RB's listed.

stupid power rankings are so... stupid.

I mean, I can get behind the idea of: the super bowl champions are the champions until they are beaten, but if you say that, shouldn't you also say that of an AFC rushing champ?

Since I fervently hope that Washington takes 5 carries per game from Jones, and Greene turns out to get lots of short yardage carries (because he's effective), I actually hope that Jones' total yardage goes down by several hundred yards (while his yards per carry could even go up). Thus, in terms of total yardage I wouldn't be surprised at all if he's not in the top 15.

    No respect?
    I prefer no pressure.
Let them pick us to finish last, and let them rank our personnel last in every category.

("No respect" is for #12 on the list. One off year due to injury and he's dropped out of the top 5? I hate the Chargers, but with Sproles emerging as a threat to his stardom, LT's gonna go bananas this year and be a fantasy gem.)

Thomas Jones is 31 years old. He'll be sharing carries with leon Washington and now Shonn Greene. Seems about right. Hopefully, he does a solid job while the other two guys flourish.
