I know, everyone is going to say it's not true. but it is. Same thing back in 2017. suck for sam started before the season. he was the end all be all 1st overall pick. Mayfield was considered a 2nd round talent. then the seaosn happened. mayfield moved into 1st round talent but sam was still defacto top pick. then came the off season, the drills, the interviews everything and things got muddy. mayfield had moved up. was now considered him or darnold. eventually Cleveland went with mayfield. I see the same happening right now with wilson. of course if 2017 means anything t-law will be bad, wilson will be medicore, and lance will be the top QB along with fields behind him.
Maybe someone can find some incriminating tweets from him when he was 10? Or a video of him smoking weed at a frat party. Both need to be released one hour before the draft. If not, he’s going #1
I think what you meant to say was: "I think there's a pretty good chance that there's a statistically miniscule possibility that T-law doesn't go first".
Think there is only one way Lawrence doesn't go first Urban Meyer resigns or dies along with the entire front office the owner out of shear panic names June Jones ( in article names Lawrence 3rd best QB in draft name Mac Jones the best QB and should be taken first) Team President and coach.
I do hope Zach Wilson has an amazing Pro Day and scouts wonder if he could go #1 overall. That works out well for the Jets. Either they would draft him, or get a lot in a trade down for him. I firmly believe Urban Meyer came out of retirement to coach Trevor Lawrence. Done deal.
Well he was. Until he regressed in his second year starting and began turning the ball over left and right. But yes, by the time he finished his redshirt sophomore year his stock had dropped considerably compared to what it could've been if he replicated his true sophomore year. Forget football for a second. Shad Khan is calling the shots in Jacksonville even if Baalke is the general manager and Meyer is the coach. He is not passing up Lawrence whatsoever. And I also agree with TDK, that Meyer grabbed this opportunity in large part because of Lawrence. There would've been a bigger Fields vs. Lawrence discussion if 2020 never happened and they were evaluated based on 2019. Especially after they went head to head and each basically won a half against the other. But Fields having a couple bad games erased that discussion. And I don't think you'll ever see a quarterback like Wilson versus the schedule he played go as the top pick regardless of what everyone thinks about him.
