http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/story/397183p-336671c.html I guess Pete really like being close to home.
Pete's salary was $4.3 million plus a $600,000 roster bonus. My guess he signed for $2.3 million and no roster bonus. Don't forget he played out of position at center when our backup center Goodwin look like SHI%. He is a much better guard then center.
How bad was he after he first game vs. Atlanta. I could say something boilerplate like 'he did much better after the atl game'....but it would be hard for him to possibly do worse... In any case Its good to have a player capable of playing more then 1 position, it gives us added flexibility and helps keep some of the continuity on our oline. Now we still need to focus on bringing in 2 Olineman, either a G/C and a RT. So much for blowing up the oline. Another good move by the FO!...I'm actually starting to feel weird about all these good decisions, Bradway has been the GM since I was a fan, so its a new experience to watch us making seemingly rational decisions instead of looking at how well most of the other teams are managing there players. The new era is at hand....
Kendall was a pro bowl calibre player at G in 2004. I'm glad he'll be back at a low cap number. If you add LeCharles Bentley, Kendall and Moore and Bentley make a damn good interior Oline.
All we need now is a veteran center or RT. And draft the last position left at oline and we are straight. The rest of the draft can be a cake walk.
At least the left side of the line is intact for Chad next year. Expecting AJ to be even better and a return to form for Kendall.
I'd love to see Bentley in Green and White. Draft us a RT who can compete for a starting job and our line isn't too shabby. I'd still like to see us grab a guard and a backup center who can hopefully play other OL positions too. Maybe even bring in a FA tackle or guard for depth (second tier obviously)
