4pm... I am at work, saw it flipping thru the channels... It's on ABC. If you havent seen the interview, it's pretty powerful, and basically shows really shows a whole nother side of lauvernes you would never expect.
This is an old interview, probably 24 months old at least, and most of us saw it when it was first aired. It's a side of Coles' past that he had to let go of and needed to deal with and therefore agreed to the original interview and original airing on the Oprah Show to get it off his chest. I'm sure he probably signed a table-full of documents at the time that, among other things, permitted Oprah to air it whenever and wherever she wanted to and as many times as her financial team deemed necessary to milk the story enough to enhance their riches, including, but not limited to, Oprah's. So now, just before the second Jets preseason game and 3 weeks prior to the official start of the NFL season, she chooses to air the show a second time. I'm certain the story is genuine and the pain very real for Coles. And I'm sure Oprah has the legal right to air this shit as many times as she wants to for financial gain and just because it was agreed to by Coles. But I'm not so sure that this gives her the moral right to do so or that by doing so, she'll gain anything at all in the way of further public support, which is already waning, IMO. God, I hate this woman. This is about the most insensitive, manipulative, degrading and greedy person on the face of the planet right now.
It was actually 2005 when he came out with that. On first thought, I though it was just last year too. I remember that Herm was still the coach at the time.
We all know this is about when he was molested as a child, Sherlock. You're not telling us something we don't know. So I'm assuming, when you say "No way," that your point is that this interview is less than 24 months old? And that's your contention? Suppose it's a year old, does that change anything? Please tell me how that changes what I've written above. Oprah is still a POS for airing it again. Coles needs to put this behind him and doesn't need the distraction now that the season is about to start. THAT was my point.
I have no problem with it, when you're wrong you're wrong. I was wrong. However, I think someone needs to relax. No need to snap at someone over Oprah.
Look, you seem like a nice enough guy and forgive me for my rant, but in case I'm not making myself crystal clear, Oprah is in the process tonight of exploiting Coles' immense pain and getting the most out of this that she can, period. This isn't about Laveraneus' experiences, it's about her ratings. Don't get me started with this bitch. Her "popularity" and TV show has zero credibilty with me. Now, get back to your TV and make sure you pay strict attention to everything Oprah suggests you do in life.
It was right before the Jaguars game when Chad tore his rotator cuff in '05 but kept playing and eventually lost in OT, if that refreshes your memory.
