Dude don't rip me but if we trade leon washington now when his stock is so high we'd probably get a lot for him, we still have j mill (the proball returner) returning our kicks, and we have enough depth

To not be a total ass and at least reply to your thread, I don't think the value of what we get in return for Leon will match the value of having him on the roster. He just isn't worth that much in a trade, but as a utility player on the Jets, he's invaluable.

Agreed..he is good for our purposes and the way we utilize his abilities...and I would not consider trading the team MVP because he brings so much value to what type of team the NY JETS are..

Leo rocks! I hope he stays on The Jets FOREVER! I haven't felt this good about one of our running backs since Johnny Johnson -- Besides the more obvious guys.

We can probably get a first rounder for Revis. I think we should trade him too. And Mangold. And Harris....And we end up like the Dolphins...

Why do u want him to be traded? He is the most explosive weapon along with Cotch that we have. I would probably trade him for a first rounder but no one will give us that and I wont take anything less than that.

Why would you trade our team's ONLY playmaker?!

Leon Washington has been terrific for us in the first 2 years of his career. He even won MVP of the team voted by the players, which means the players like him and respect him.

    No way.

    Leon isn't going anywhere.

He's too important to the team.

    The little engine that could.

the only way this happens is if we take Mcfadden, and deem Leon expendable. Which is possible, Mcfadden is the fast elusive back, so if we keep one of jones/washington it would be the compliment back, as in the bigger stronger power type. Now Jones is not in anyway a hardcore Power runningback, but he is more in that mold than Leon. So in with Mcfadden, out with Leon... Therefore, I say draft Chris Long and make it a moot point...

From what I can see, McFadden is indeed fast, but is he really all that illusive?

One gets the impression that in the Kiddie Leagues he is often able to outspeed his competition and bull rush smaller DBs a little bit.

But if you take the speed plus outrageous change in direction that epitomize Adrian Peterson's game in the NFL, there is really no comparison between them.

I don't have any idea if McFadden can fake out a tackler and then run by him in an unexpected direction suddenly.

I see AP doing this all the time, and he doesn't require a lot of yardage to do it either.

It seems to me that McFadden has a lot of ball running skills to develop and perfect. If he just has speed to offer, perhaps he should be used as a WR while he is learning his craft.

Of course, all this mitigates against a No. 4 or No. 6 pick.

He was the team MVP- you don't trade those. Coles got it 2 years ago, and we guaranteed all of his money for his remaining years (his remaining productive years as well)

Only trade Leon if someone was willing to give up a first round draft pick. or the bengals would trade chad johnson.

As I have posted in other threads, Leon Washington is the main reason we dont need to draft Darren McFadden. Lets save a draft pick, alot of headaches about "babys daddy" and bar fights and just keep letting Leon be our elusive speed back that dominates in space.

Mcfadden is not overrated as a college player, he was awesome, but much like a Reggie Bush, he translates into an awesome 3rd down back in the pros, not worth a Top 10 pick. Also, he doesnt even have Bush's receiving skills so he may be more limited as a player.

Grab someone like Ray Rice in the 2nd round to backup/split time with TJ or just give Chatman a chance.

In 1-2 years though, we're going to need a full-time back. And I'd rather take THE BEST one now to lock down the position for the next 10 years with D-Mac & Leon instead of waiting to draft someone in the future when we might not be in the position to draft somebody like McFadden for a long time.

If I could get away with simply typing "...", I would have done it in this thread.

It's been proven time and again that RBs don't necessarily need to 'sit' like QBs. You can literally take the Rb you need THAT YEAR and have him contribute right away (ala Peterson, Edg James, etc etc. Having an RB 'too early' bit us in the ass as recently as LaMont...

Who says it's too early? TJ is a solid runningback, not a great runningback by any stretch. Leon's a good rotation guy who could be a little more than that. If McFadden is that good, this team is looking a lot better immediately.
