How many times has one or more of these happened to the JETS???

-We commit penalties in the redzone...Done
-We turn it over in the Redzone...Done
    -We Blow a Big Lead...Done
    -We Miss Crucial FG's...Done
-We miss an Crucial XP ...Done
-We Give up big plays late in the game...Done
-We get Conservative and play "Not to Lose"......
    WAIT!

All of those happened today EXCEPT the Last one. (The TO was taken away on a penalty) We have been begging for Balls on play calling and we get it.

Some of those things are attributes of a new system, Coaches, Rookies..etc...
But the fact remains allow your players to make plays...NO MATTER WHEN.

We've seen this team collapse so many times, It's good to see this style of coaching and great to see the players responding to it.

Once we fix the Mistakes, I think we'll be ok.
This is Not the same ol'

I agree with you RT.. the play calling today was like night and day compared with the old CS. These guys can coach a game DURING THE GAME!!!!

Just one correction: we didn't turn it over in the redzone.

That out to Coles on 3rd and 1? That was the moment where I realized this was a new regime. I wasn't sure what to think of Schotty until now but I think he's gonna be good for us.

Tee, I agree with you so far me like...the only fear i have is if there is some issues in the locker room will they surface or will Tanny be able to move the disgrunted malcontents out....

I dont care what you say. All that matter is that we won the game. We won because Mangini made good decisions in the 4th quarter when it mattered something herm couldnt and cant do. With a great head coach like him I beleive he will fix these mistakes. I we could be good this year.

RT's right, this game was ugly as hell. Chad's performance aside, we saw that there is still much more work to be done before this team will actually compete for anything.

But we won, so it doesn't hurt so much.

A day in the life of a typical NFL football team. The difference between winning and losing.......a very good quarterback.

Yes, That's what I meant when I was parenthodically said "The TO was taken away on a penalty".

Definitely fellas, No doubt a win is a win, I'm not bashing .
Actually, as I said the mistakes can be attributed to a number of things that can and should be fixed.

My point was simply that you can see the difference already on the mentality of our CS.

Glad to see that I'm not the only one who feels this way

There was alot to be excited about today. I loved the playcalling. Even when it wasn't working they stuck to it. They understand that like in previous years Chad cannot throw the ball more than 7 yards in the air and we cannot pass protect. They smartly than ran the ball and kept Chad throwing short and with quick passes so he could negate the rush. Once Chad had thrown hurt Tenn with enough short passes they opened it up occassinaly and threw a few passes down the field. Very smart offensive playcalling. We played knowing our limitations but at the same time mixing it up to keep Tenn. honest.

Were we lucky? Yes. We were the beneificiary of a number of hugely bad calls? Yes. The pass interference call, the non Coles fumble, another mysterious PI call on the Tenn. But we also played smart. Yes Mangini's failure to go for the kill shot at the one yard line allowed Tenn to get back in the game. But maybe that was a good thing. I would much rather win the way we did today than in a blow out. Fighting adversity, rallying back and winning close games promotes character. This team will only be better because we blew the lead. Chad will also only be better. Rather than doing a Culepper when the hame was on the line he raised his game high enough to win.

I would not be to excited that we beat a very bad football team. Rather I wiould be excited about the way we won the game. I loved the playcalling and give the coaching staff very high marks with the way they managed the game even with the 4th and 1 gaff.

I agree about Nugent but Mangini's failure to end the game on the 4th and one also kept the game alive. Both Nuge and Mangini's mistake were responsible for allowing Tenn back in. But even with this gaff the CS did a very good job today.

Like I said, These are things that should be ironed out as the season progresses.
    This includes coaches decisions.
The fact is one really can't bitch if it ends in a "W"....But we can still critique
