Ya know, with us going to the playoffs (and the NYG not) obviously we're getting a ton of media coverage. You would think this would be great; Everyone talking about our favorite team, right? Wrong...at least for me. I can't even watch/listen to half this shit. These media hacks are fuckin idiots when it comes to the Jets and analyzing this game specifically. If I hear one more "debate" about the wisdom of Rex saying he thinks they should be favorites, whether sanchez can throw a pass without the world coming to an end, or us "backing in" to the playoffs, I'm gonna puke. And I'm not talking about the national media. It's the local guys. Adam Schien, Chris Carlin, Ray "Mr Malapropism" Lucas, Brandon Tierney, Michael Kaye, and basically everyone I hear on SNY...not to mention Franscessa. All of these idiots just latch on to the stupidest, most superficial shit and babble on about it over and over, ad nauseum. Last week it was all that stupid Ochocinco crap; this week it's Rex saying he thinks we should be favorites. What do those two "issues" have in common? Both have nothing to do with FOOTBALL!!! God would I love some actual analysis of the players, schemes, matchups, tendencies, you know, FOOTBALL stuff. For all this extra attention I get zero insightful, or even interesting, analysis of things that will actually matter once the game starts. I'm sorry for the rant, but this game can't come soon enough because I just can't listen to anymore BS. :jets:
Don't get me fucking started.. New Orleans. held them to 10 points on offense. Get back to me when our Offense and defense is suspect if we dont turn it over.
well in 24 hrs you can listen to them say we have no shot next weekend and the bengals weren't that good of a team
If we beat the Bengals tomorrow, I feel like the media will finally start giving the Jets some credit. We've been trashed all season.
I ts depressing to feel passionatly about somthing and have other people marginalize it. But fuck em the games played on the field not in the headlines and thats what we're fans of. :jets:
The media is dumb. They are making a big deal out of Ryan saying his team should be favorites - the guy loves his team. There is nothing wrong with that at all. What is wrong are the media dorks who can't figure out that its a good thing to be confident and love your team and think they can win it all.
If we beat the Bengals the media will just drone on and on about how the Chargers/Colts are going to kill us. And if we beat the Chargers/Colts they will just drone on and on about how the next team is going to kill us. I couldn't give two shits about what the media says, all that matters is how the team performs.
I agree, they don't know anything about the Jets. Obviously none of us follows any other team as closely as the Jets, so we probably get this same bullshit for other teams as well.
Yeah seriously. I usually look forward to watching media coverage when the Jets make the playoffs, I am off all week with a new baby so I have time to watch ESPN, and all the coverage annoys me. The Sanchez bashing is out of control. Hearing about Rex talking some shit about being confident in his team is a waste of time. All media talks about is the jets were gifted a playoff appearance. Watching 1st and 10 today talking about how Palmer is elite - BULLSHIT - he avgs about as many yards as Sanchez does. The Bengals lack a deep threat, a pass catching running back, and no tight end. They can't challenge the middle of the field and when you eliminate Chad you have to only worry about Coles catching 8 yard slants. Michael Kay was no better on 1050 the other day.
I was just going to post a similar statement. Just to add that Im sure some how we "got lucky" or because the Bengals messed up, something to that effect. And then we will hear that neither the Jets or the Bengals should be in the playoffs. They all want to talk about what we cant do well, not about our strong suits. They also crack about some of the comments that Rex has made, why dont they look at his body of work in 1 season what he has done with this team??? That says alot more than what is coming out of his mouth.......
SI had a pretty accurate article in their latest issue about the playoffs and the jets, said the bengals played to win and tried but got embarrassed and the jets played well enough win last 5 out of six games to get to the playoffs.
Get use to it. After we beat the Bengals tomorrow, all we're going to hear is how this was the game against the two worst teams in the playoffs, how Cincy just coudn't recover from challenging blows this year and how Indianapolis let us in the playoffs just to set up a cakewalk game leading to the AFC championship. F*** em. We're going to beat them both.
The crappy media "analysis" is one of the main things that lead me to this site, the analysis on this site is much better than most of the sny guys (especially Schien), makes it sad that the sny guys earn a living for their crap while the posters here are just talking football
I stopped reading at "local guys" there's a reason they are local guys. they're awful, lying, ratings driven bullshit artists. I make my own opinions and then realize they're better than what those who get paid to do the same.
If your coach doesn't have faith in his team, then it's time to find a new coach. It's really sad that the media doesn't understand this. But then again, just bashing him makes their job Soooo much easier and they don't have to really look at the teams and perform a truly critical breakdown and show how little they really know about football.
