Hopefully he is better than some of the bums in our bullpen, well we traded Anderson Hernandez for him which is basically nothing considering that A Reyes is basically a better version of Hernandez.

How the hell did Omar manage to get anything for one of the worst hitters to ever play pro ball?

    Two words: Jim Bowden.

Wow. This guy had been great in the BP up until this season. Nice job buying low on a guy who can hopefully rediscover himself.

Hell, if Bowden had pooped in a bag and given it to us, it likely would have still been a good trade for us. Hernandez is of no value.

I don't like Ayala at all. His first couple years in the league he was an extremely dominant ground ball pitcher but that hasn't been the case the past few years. His walk rate also shot up alot this year, which was the only thing he was good at.

He's probably been a bit unlucky with the ERA this year, but this is still probably closer to the real Ayala then the ridiculous mid 2s and low 3s ERAs he's put up before.

But, it's only Anderson Hernandez and as long as Ayala isn't re-signed after this year I have no problem with grasping at straws to try to fix his bullpen mess.

And that's where I get nervous. I can absolutely see Ayala having a good run with the Mets and getting a multi-year deal that makes me want to slam my head in a door.

Coem on.... don't you know that's exactly what's going to happen. He's going to dominate he'll be thrown into the chump mix next year.

As painful as that might be in 2009, I will happily take a dominating reliever for the rest of 2008.
