Since no one else bothered, and with good reason. I hate this team so much. Only they can make up a 6-run deficit and still lose in extra innings. They get you to give a shit and then they shit on you. You can't make it up. You just knew as the extras wore on they'd lose. This team simply can't get a big hit when they absolutely need it. Ike gets a huge PH 2-RBI single in the 8th and fucking Manuel doesn't bother to keep him in the game. I love it. You can talk about their comebacks, they've had a few, but they're always another hit away and they never get it. Or the bats shut down completely, which is what they did in the last 4 innings after they blew chances in the 8th and 9th. Cards score with a HBP, a walk and a 2 out single. Something we almost never do.

I think Cora has to start 80 games for his option in 2011 to kick in. Hopefully Castillo can stay healthy enough for that not to happen.

Yay the Mets win a series.... Davis was very good this series after struggling in Arizona and LA. Good bounce back for Ike.
I watched all the extra innings last night. What a brutal loss after the chances to win it. I listened and watched to today and the way Dickey was dealing, it was clear that the Davis homer was all that was needed. Great for Dickey to get the CGSO and give the bullpen a day off. I didn't really agree with not batting for him with the bases loaded in the 8th, though. Wright was on the bench. I guess the idea was to give Dickey a shot at the CGSO. He's already pissed off enough at Manuel. I think Castillo will play enough so that Cora won't wind up starting 80 games.
actually jerry let him hit with the bases loaded and 1 out and a 4-0 lead. then he took him out with runners on 1st and 2nd and 1 out. so there was no complete game
Dickey has been a really nice find for this team, it's strange but Tony Clark had a very nice year out of nowhere for the Mets, a few years later Tatis came out of the Dominican CYO League to have a great season and now Dickey.
