Boland (Newsday) reports a few more moves besides the ones he mentioned this morning:

"GMs like to say the roster is "fluid" at this time of year and the Jets showed as much today with some moves, a couple of which I mentioned in the morning practice post. Here are the moves in full:

The team signed safety Ron Girault (Rutgers), linebacker Brandon Renkart (Rutgers), receiver Rudy Burgess and linebacker Jerry Mackey (Freeport HS grad). The Jets released punter Joe Smith, safety Darnell Bing and cornerback Andre Woolfolk, who just never could get completely healthy it seemed. "

Woolfolk is a mild surprise to be gone so early, but he was a longshot anyway.

Well I guess Andre Woolfolk's uncle won't be posting here anymore.

Chuckle...yes, but I suspect we also just gained a few Rutgers fans.

Alas, we will never get to hear a TV announcer declare "Bodda-Bing" in response to a hard hit by Darnell.

very true. Yesterday is when I first found out Darnell was even a Jet, and today he is a goner... sad.

Also i figured Woolfolk would at least get a few weeks, but hey he clearly wasn't going to make the roster playing how he was apparently.

now i don't believe i have heard of any of the new guys...

Now here is the conspiracy theorist play. Joe Smith wore number 4, so now, #4 is available to give to Brett Farve, and he wouldn't have to pay Smith for the number. So I suspect by tomorrow Farve will be a Jet. End conspiracy theorist rant.

For some reason, I fell that if Favre does play for another team he will not wear #4
