Only two 12 team leagues this year, both with the same settings; QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, TE, K, D and all TDs are 6 points with standard yardage. I drafted 11th and 10th, respectively: $$$ league QBs: P. Manning RBs: Thomas, Wells, Forsett, Ricky W, McCluster, Slaton, K. Williams WRs: Ca. Johnson, Boldin, Ward, Housh, Massaquoi, Gonzalez TEs: Z. Miller, Daniels K: M. Crosby D/ST: Cincy $ league QB: Rodgers RBs: DeAngelo, Best, Forsett, LT, Leon, McCluster WRs: Nicks, S. Moss, D. Mason, S. Holmes, J. Gaffney, M. Williams(TB) TE: Finley K: Janikowski D/ST: AZ I think I'm pretty solid with both, though I like my small money team better. What say you?
Both solid, should see consistent points. I would trade for a better RB in the first group. In the second group I would try to pick up a better WR, you have a bunch of good RB to trade with.
Want to see how not to draft? This guy is always dead money from the get-go(6th year playing with him) and his $300 is very welcome: QB: Schaub, A. Smith, VY RBs: CJ, Charles, Sproles, Choice WRs: Dez Bryant, E. Royal, Braylon, M. Williams(SEA), L. Murphy, J. Morgan TE: Gonzo, J. Gresham Ks: Prater, Succop Ds: Dallas, KC, Tennessee He took Dez in the 4th round. He almost has as many defenses as RBs and he has a bunch of #3 WRs, at best.
The rest of the team is very good and Williams, Murphy, and Morgan all have some potential to break out this year. That being said he no way wins..
Dude has zero RB depth and no clearly defined WRs. Honestly, you'd have to try and play the match-up game with his entire WR core every week. Plus, he wasted roster spots galore with backups upon backups at D, TE and QB. That team needs a miracle to break .500.
Your small money team would mop the floor with your big money team. Forsett may lose his job to Leon Washington, I would look to trade him in both leagues.
Are you serious?? Leon Washington is not going to supplant any one on any team, ever. He couldn't do it without having had a compound fracture, and he sure is hell isn't going to do after having one. Justin Forsett is nasty. The dude can run and make some big plays. He was far better than Julius Jones ever was but was not given enough touches to be a significant contributor for no other reason than Jim Mora is an idiot. The entire NFL wanted to know why Forsett was not the starting RB last season. Jones was just released, and you think Washington is going to steal his spot? Washington will be lucky if he gets 10 to 15 touches a game to split with Forsett. The Seahawks have many issues, but who the starting RB should be is not one of them. Forsett would be a beast on any other team. He is a very solid pick and should provide some highlights this season with an increased amount of action.
Forsett looked good last year and has been recommended by many as a sleeper pick. However, he did lose carries to Leon in preseason and has a lousy supporting cast (OL, WRs, QB, etc.). Now that teams are expecting him and stacking 8 guys in the box, Forsett may not do so well. Obviously you are high on him since you selected him for both teams but buyer beware.
I'm not that high on Forsett either. If he's my 3rd back, I'm fine with that, and he's that for you, but I only take him if he falls down a little bit. To me, he got a lot of his yards in garbage time and on 3rd and long plays, his offensive line is awful, and Leon will take some touches away. Julius might take some, too, Pete Carroll seems to like RBBC. And Forsett isn't that big or fast. He looked good last year, and as an RB3, I'm fine with that, but to me, he's in the Cadillac Williams/Clinton Portis group of ugly runningbacks.
