If he is a massive bust, what does that make Gholston, Hackenberg, and Polite? Not massive, but disappointing for sure. Another Mac miss. I doubt the Jets hang on to him if he is suspended 6 games.
I agree with the posts above, but don't we have to give this guy at least a few points for honesty? He's the first player I can remember who didn't give some dopey dog-ate-my-homework excuse for how PEDs wound up in his system.
Shame. The guy had a great story getting the the NFL (albeit with the help of a dopey GM). He probably didn't feel like he belonged and had to find an edge somewhere.
My thoughts as well and he did explain the dilemma an injured marginal player is in where he needs to get healthy to have a chance to make the team and he has to weigh the risks. Taking the PEDs might have helped save his roster spot in the short term but then lost it for him in the long run because of the suspension.

man after reading this I feel bad for the dude. never realized he was that banged up he also owned up to it as well and didn't' give some lame ass excuse. honestly i have nothing but respect for the guy and hope he heals up and comes back and contributes.
Knew he was a bad pick as soon as we made it.25 year old small school DT(of course) which was a panic move bc they lowballed all the DL depth forcing them all to sign elsewhere.And the main reason they took him was a damn indy workout at the senior bowl.Awful awful awful.

Exactly.They made a panic pick bc MAC screwed up on retaining one of the team’s few strengths. W Wilk,sheldon,Snacks all out the door he couldnt let another position go to shit under his watch. That pick needed to be one of the positions you alluded to above.Remember their being good value at that spot.No way Sheppard was Far & away BPA esp w the all the needs the jets had. Another one bites the dust. Every single year the Jets are loaded with garbage suspensions. This really needs to change. Hopefully Douglas and Gase will help set a new standard going forward.
