We may have not reached our goal this year which sucks, we were so close AGAIN. I know some of you's (Champ) may consider this season a failure because we did not win the Super Bowl. But take a step back and just look at the season as one big picture. This 2010-2011 season was a hell of a ride and not to mention with Rex Ryan in only his second year as a head coach and OUR FRANCHISE QB Mark Sanchez in his second year also. We have our guys. I know it and you know it. Our team was in the media all off-season. All the guys Tanny brought in. (Cromartie, Santonio, Tomlinson, Pool, Taylor) It seemed we were getting all the signings. We had Hardknocks, The Darrelle Revis or should I say Mevi$ holdout which lasted much longer than any of us wanted it to. The NFL off-season was full of NYJ talk and I know we were all loving it. We had the first monday night football game of the season, I know many of us still want revenge for that loss. Then we go onto New England and beat them to start our 5 game win streak and start the season 5-1. We go to Denver and get the first of many comebacks this season with the pass interference in the final seconds of the game. Then we have the comebacks against Detroit, Cleveland, and Houston! 4 nail-biting games that our team managed to dig deep and win. Then the Thanksgiving game vs the Bengals was something us Jet fans can appreciate since we don't get to see it too often. Our boys playing on Turkey day. The next week comes the shellacking in Foxboro. The loss to Miami. But it doesn't matter. We're 11-5 at the end of the season and in the playoffs. We go to Indy and beat Peyton in his own house! Now we have the Pats, NO ONE! NO ONE IN THE WORLD is giving us shot to win this game and we go in there and shock the world. The best win of the season for us. Yeah we didn't go to the Super Bowl this year and we lost once again in an AFCCG but just take a look back at everything and honestly tell me this wasn't one of the most fun seasons as a Jet fan we ever had. I loved the ride this team took us on. Rex has made us relevant once again and it's going to be like this for a long long time. I will wear my green with pride tomorrow and the next day. Because I know that one day soon it will be us hoisting that AFCCG trophy and advancing to the Super Bowl. It was a good season guys, fuck that it was a great season guys. We'll be back next year. You better fucking believe it. I hope you guys enjoyed the ride as much as I did.
I totally agree with this post, they took a step forward even though it seems that they remained in the same position. Last year they had to win 2 games just to get into the playoffs. This year they had a solid 11-5 divisional record. Next year lets win the division and get home field advantage. If this team gets a good pash rusher or two for next season on the d-line watch out.
Good post, but it actually did matter. We need to win our division and get HFA throughout the playoffs. As long as we are having to run the tables on the road as a WC every year, we will always be long shots to win it all.
Yes it was a great season full of many memorable moments and we perhaps do have a bright future only time will tell but any season that doesnt end with a Superbowl victory is a failure in my book. Its what you play for!
