It's a New Year and would like to just put this up for possible discussion. The whole board is a forum, and feel that every post should be counted. That's just the major reason to me, every post should count regardless. I mean, posts in the Trash-Talking forum count, and their is plenty of that in the BS forum. Just want to put it out there...
I dunno dude... Seems like a lot of people (wrongly) consider people more credible during serious discussions if their post counts are higher.... It would be stupid if there were people considering someone's opinion more valuable just because they posted 5,000 times in the 'Say Something About the Person Who Posted Before You' thread, or some stupid thing like that.... If people are gonna attribute credibility based on posts, like idiots, those posts better be about football...
It's no different than a game-thread with people just going "1st down." "Touchdown!" "Coles hurt." I mean you can see the usual posters easily get 100 posts in the game-thread, now it is only 16 games, 17 this season as compared to the year-round BS forum.
The BS Forum is fine the way it is. Making posts count would make the place totally useless and full of junk.
The posters who's opinions are worth giving a damn about are smart enough to know who's a good poster and who isn't without having to rely on post counts.
I dont think it is needed. It'd be interesting to see how many BS counts one has. Like a seperate counter.
A separate counter would be much better. Or if not a post count, something under their pic or something that says BSer or something
No, i was around when posts in the BS forum counted, and the post whoring was serious annoying. I hardly ever even glance at posts counts anyway
I wouldn't mind seeing them counted separately. At the same time, I don't really care. No one needs to know I post 214 BS messages a day...
Post count discrimination is getting out of hand. There is a rumor that "NO RING" MARINO was run down behind an Applebee’s for low post count. I think for the long term health of the board serious consideration should be given to eliminating post count altogether. We could come up with an affirmative action plan to level the playing field. Maybe Petrozza should be required to interview low post count posters for Mod positions before any new appointments? Sensitivity training for those that abuse low post count posters should be instituted immediately. When discrimination like this rears its ugly head, it needs to be challenged immediately.
I seriously havent checked my post count in months. Put a gun to my head and I would have no idea..not even within 500. Very heartfelt post there Winston. Wonder if Petro has the time to interview.
3517 posts@!! thats bs man. Didnt mean the above post to sound like Im better then anyone because I never check post counts...just dont understand the fascination.
I think for starters I'll just remove post counts from user profiles. As for the title of this thread, the answer is NO....
