We need to start breaking some of these curses. This draft nugget is from Cimini. Jets daily draft nugget: No team has traded up into the top five more than the Jets — four times in the common-draft era (since 1967). None of the three previous picks (Mark Sanchez, Dewayne Robertson and Lam Jones) made a single Pro Bowl. The Jets also are part of another trend. Since 2013, only nine of the 12 first-round quarterbacks were taken with picks acquired via trade. The exceptions: Jameis Winston, Marcus Mariota and Blake Bortles.
Can't stop swinging because of past failures. They are a warning, a cautionary tale, but not a reason to stop.
I am not sure that stat is correct. What about Goff and Wentz weren't they taken with picks acquired by trade? Edit: My apologies, I misread your stat. Cimini said "only 9 of the 12" which is a very strange way to word this sentence.
I believe that too but he could have swung twice last year and had QB's that were better than these 4 this year. I would draft a QB every year.
History is history. Hopefully the odds are in our favour to land the franchise guy we so desperately need.
I also would draft a QB every year, even after finding our franchise guy. Even a good backup isn't easy to come by, and you never know when you'll uncover a gem that creates a "good problem to have".
