    For the above poll

For everyone involved in the All-Time draft thread please post any questions and concerns in here. This thread will also be used to make comments on people's picks and how you feel the draft is going. It will start on Saturday May 13th unless there are issues. I will have the complete draft listing posted in here when I have confirmation from everyone.

    1. Each person should be allowed 6 hours to make a pick. I have given this much time because not everyone will be on all the time. A PM will be sent when it's your turn to draft.

    2. If a player does not make a pick within the alloted time frame there will be an hour where each of the other members will each recommend the player that should be drafted

    3. The draft will be snaked. In other words Round 1 will go 1-10 Round 2 10-1 Round 3 1-10 Round 4 10-1 etc. etc.

    4. After the draft is completed there will be a poll for everyone to come in and look at how we each drafted and determine which of our all-time teams were the best.

    6. Let's keep the draft thread strictly for the draft picks. It'll be easier to see who was drafted. After each round is completed I will try and compile a list of each team so everyone has a reference point.

    5. Let's have fun with this. This will be a good way to kill some time before Training Camp and pre-season starts.

--On a side note if you are encouraged to put a picture up of the player you chose so people can see who you drafted.

If anyone has any questions of the above please state them below so we can all talk about it. I want this to be fun and educational. This can be a great resource for our younger fans to see who some of us older guys used to like to watch. Thanks

    thank you!

One other question. Re there going to be limits on the years in which we can draft players, or are weallowed to draft from the NFL's infant years as well?

We should be able to draft any AAFC/NFL and AFL players (1920-2005). Personally, I don't know how many pre-1960 players I would draft. For instance, Chuck Bednarik was an all time great, but he was small by today's standards. He only weighed 233 pounds. If we had a time machine and we took Bednarik in his prime to today's NFL he would get pounded.
I do think the skill position players back then could play today, but not the linemen.

No limits on what years you can use for players. Chuck Bednarik would be a fine pick, because we're not using Today's players standards to determine who comes out on top. Just how they did in the era they played.

Because there are 10 people participating in this draft and we are only drafting starting positions, there will only be 10 quarterbacks selected, correct?
Basically, I will only need to pre-rank 10 QBs and when I decide to pick one I'll just take the highest one remaining on my board.

Aside from kickers and punters, almost all (or all) of the players picked will be Hall of Famers or future Hall of Famers, which is fine.

If this went pretty well, we could always extend it to draft backups.

If my time to make a pick turns out to be midnight to 6am, I probably would be asleep.
If I'm online at a weird time, I'll certainly pick, but I don't think anyone should get penalized during the wee hours of the morning.

yes, we are only drafting 10 QB's because we are only selecting a starting lineup.
That is correct. Any selection that gets into the 10:00 hour will be extended thru until noon the next day.

Are we aloud to use three receivers instead of using a tightend or fullback?

Don't expect many Jets to be among the 240 draftees. Namath, Maynard, and Lott will be drafted. Riggins, Klecko, Mawae, Martin and perhaps a couple others are possibilities.

I would say you can run whatever offense you want as long as you have a QB, 5 down lineman, and 5 runners/receivers, but it's up to the rest of the board.

I'll put in my two cents here, but I'll defer to whatever ruling decided upon by Murrell2878.

I think we should draft a TE, but if you want to pass on a FB and take a 3rd WR, I'd be okay with that. But keep in mind, you'd be passing on a number of great fullbacks.

That's fine with me. You must draft a TE, but if you want to pass on a FB for a 3rd WR then go ahead...but like Cakes said there are many amazing FB's in the history of the NFL. Just remember today's FB's are no where near what a FB used to be...hint hint
