Nice to have live football on a Sunday again. Unfortunately, two mediocre teams. But I see that the stadium is jam-packed, so someone's interested. Although, just what the hell else they'd be doing if this game weren't going on is beyond me. Checking crawdad traps? Helping Maw shuck sugar peas?
I see Olay Miss did the ol' "fumblerooski" for a touchdown. Cool to watch. Nothing else was working for them, so why the hell not try something that nobody's seen since the 1940's.
21-17 Olay Miss. Man, this game is tortuosly boring. Evidenced, I guess, by the activity in this thread.
Sorry. I'm late updating for all you people following. A couple scores since last we met. Ummmm. . . . 28-25 Olay Miss. Oh, and I just checked, still nobody cares about either team. More to follow.
Looks like Olay Miss takes this one. 60,000 fans and 180,000 teeth smiling wide. With the win, Mississippi creeps up to 78th on the top 100 list. Memphis, unfortunately, will drop down to 86th.
I didn't get to see most of the game, but in what little I did I was very impressed with Brent Schaeffer and Ben Jarvis Green-Ellis, two transfers in their first game for Ed Orgeron's Rebels. Schaeffer (Tennessee) is a WR in the NFL, but is also going to be a very good college QB, like our boy Brad Smith. Kurt and I discussed how mediocre Patrick Willis looked, he's a tackle machine, just doesn't have any spark to him.
