This coverup is looking uglier and uglier. http://www.forbes.com/feeds/ap/2007/07/26/ap3958728.html A 3 shot burst to Tillman's FOREHEAD? You have to be really ****ing close to someone for that kind of tight grouping. Recoil should make that near impossible for that to happen. You have to be really fugging close to someone and AIMING at that spot for that kind of grouping. This 'accidental friendly fire' stinks. Also, the fact that they burned his clothes/gear hours after his death raises a f***ton of flags: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18233635/ Predictably, Bush administration is, yet again, withholding documents in this case: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/07/13/politics/main3057506.shtml?source=RSSattr=Politics_3057506 I weep for this country. edit: "_ Army attorneys sent each other congratulatory e-mails for keeping criminal investigators at bay as the Army conducted an internal friendly-fire investigation that resulted in administrative, or non-criminal, punishments." Ugh, that makes me sick.
I saw a documentary on this last year, either the History Channel or maybe Discovery. Anyway, they interviewed guys in his unit that were there, etc. plus recreated the events. No denying friendly fire, but at least the way they laid it out it certainly looked and sounded like a tragic accident to me. You never know, but I highly doubt the producers were involved in a Republican cover up. The Army's initial attempt to cover this up pretend it was enemy fire was pathetic and a total botch job, but projecting it even worst based on whaat the media wants to report isn't the way to go either.
I am certain it would not be the first time friendly fire was intentional. Unfortunate if this were actually true.
