    Holt to Pats

Torry Holt signed one year deal with the Patriots, just heard it on sports center, the dude was doing the top ten plays and said it at the end that he just heard it through his little ear phone.

Indication of how fast they have fallen. We could of signed him last year and smartly passed. He sucks.

Shouldn't this be in the NFL forum? Were we even targeting Holt anymore?

Lets see Brandon Marshall > Santonio Holmes > Torry Holt.... desperation move by them. Cro will eat Holt for breakfast and shit him out in front of Chicken.

Actually it's not a terrible move for them, but he'll be their 4th WR. That is providing that System Boy's knee is healthy.

I did post this in the NFL forum, but they merged mine with the OP instead of the other way around.

They may as well have brought back Troy Brown, for all the good this does.

Maybe, maybe not on the 4th WR issue. With Welker out, they needed a reliable possession guy. Holt could be good for them as a #3.

Lets hope Holt doesn't pull a Moss and resurrect his carreer with the Pats

He's washed up, that's just a waste of cash and a stopgap for a slot WR

I don't think anyone's trying to put this in the same category as the Holmes or Marshall deals... the Patriots are just really thin at the position at this point. Moss is definitely on the back nine (probably around the 16th hole, IMO!), Edelman is unproven, Aiken is a special teams guy... they really don't have a lot of depth there.

Everyone knows his best days are behind him, but Holt's 51 catches and 722 yards would have been third in both categories for NE last year.

So nothing to get too excited about for Pats fans, but certainly worth a shot. Worst case they cut him in camp.

Holt is still a solid, reliable receiver. Not a number 1 anymore by any means, but he is a good pickup for them. The guy hasn't been on a good team in a while. Hopefully he still isn't

Am I the only one mad about this signing? He's only 33 (that's not too old for a wr) and with Brady I could see him having another 1,000 yard season.
