Petty didn't look 100% ready to go. They've gotta do something to start moving these guys forward. Fitz is willing to work with these guys, he just doesn't have the arm strength to do what he is trying to do, they absolutely need to get Petty and Hack working with him now in practice so they can get them out there looking prepared.

I seriously don't know what exactly they are doing. Wtf are they going to do if they end up starting Fitz the remainder of the year and they're still not out there? Try to get Romo or something?

Last QB we need is a Romo. We need to see what the young guys can do. Why pay a fragile QB a ton of money so he can go down after a light hit. The key to a great team long term is to play our young QBs. I can guarantee the coaching staff has no clue on whether these guys will be good or not once they play for real. Remember when Chad went in - the coaching staff really had no idea if he could handle it. I remember Herm saying he was pleasantly surprised.

Petty looked just as capable as Fitz for sure. Gailey just didn't let him throw it.

All I know is a saw a perfectly thrown screen pass for the first time since Pennington was playing QB. Sanchez threw more screens to D lineman than Jet RBs.

Romo - a guy playing behind one of the best O lines in the league can't stay upright, can u imagine him playing behind this group?

I'm not advocating Romo by any means. That's just the kind of move I could see them doing. I just think they need to get both Petty and Hack the necessary reps in practice and actually try them. Then again we've got Bowles and Gailey which could be why Petty didn't get anything to try.

You can bet your bottom butt that, if healthy, Fitz will be the starter next week. It just wouldn't surprise me that this CS and
management still feel the season can turn around.

False sense of hope = Jets

Can someone please explain to me why staying with Fitz is the right thing to do I rather lose every game for the rest of the season with Hack or Petty then at least we know we can move on from everyone and start again who knows they might surprise us cuz we sure as hell know Fitz blows

Trade down for 2 more 2nd round picks then select a long snapper, punter and a QB the entire league had ranked as a 6th round pick except this sorry ass franchise.

That's how it is with every team. Cowboys were looking for a back up because they thought Dak couldn't play. Even when he played a few games they said Romo will start once hes healthy . Now he's starting over Romo.

You don't know what you have in a QB until they play a real game. This why we need to just see what Petty can do. But our coach sucks.

The only reason you keep Fitz in now is to let the kid finish getting his health back to 100%. Last thing we need is to pull that idiot Fitz and have the kid injure something permanently. If Petty is 100% you let him go and end this insanity. Fitzpatrick should not back here after this season under any circumstances. Clearly they didn't want to pay him what he wanted and it's left some kind of undeserved chip on his shoulder.

Last season we thought Fitzpatrick was a team leader. A player that would play hard and bring the team together while leading the charge and being a good influence on the young guys. Instead, what we got was a money grubbing, one hit wonder, choke artist malcontent that fits in all to well with our other high dollar quit artists (Mevis and Wilker$on).

All I know is that they better not ask Mangold to give any money back so they can sign who/whatever. No matter how bad gets Mangold never quits on us. Not one season, game, half, quarter or down. That guy has been a consummate pro's pro his entire time here. When he does retire they better have a position lined up and ready to go for him. Of course, being the facking Jets they'll reward him by trying to force a paycut on him, quickly followed by release or trade.
