Locked up for 6 years, $40.5 million with an option for the 7th year. Nice. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3741730
Tim is going to get a big pay raise. He finally agreed to work on an extension, and not just single year deals.
True enough - now. Without saying it, I was amortizing Pedroia over the six years of the contract. $6.75 per year for the next six years? I'm not comparing Pedroia to Teixeira by any means, but Boras is looking for $25-plus million annually over 6-7 years. Gives perspective to Pedroia's contract.
Yea that Boras is on crack if he thinks he's going to get $25 mil a year for a guy in this economy & doesn't have the ability to hit 50+ HRs & 150+ RBI's a year.
Ruling out Lincecum and other guys who haven't gotten to their arbitration years or already been bought out of them with a long term deal, I'd say Reyes at less than 6 million a year is a up there too.
yeah except in a year when Lincecum hits arbitration he's gonna get a ton if they haven't extended him, he'll ask for 18 and get 12 or 13
At which point Tim won't be biggest bargain in baseball anymore, that's fair enough, but today he is. Just bustin Jack's balls a little for being so Boston-centric
