    Kerry Rhodes-DB-Jets Mar. 5 - 4:11 pm et

Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum stated Friday that FS Kerry Rhodes will remain with the team in 2010.
NY Daily News beat writer Rich Cimini is bound to be skeptical -- he's long been convinced Rhodes will be dealt -- but the Jets are poised to pay the free safety's roster bonus on March 12. Rhodes, 27, is signed through 2012.

I'm not sure if I believe it but part of me does want to see Rhodes back. If he can live up to his full potential our secondary would be crazy.

I'm not going to buy into that yet.....Tanny isn't going to show his cards.

Yeah you've gotta take it with a grain of salt for sure. Maybe they feel that there isn't anyone out there that will be as good as Rhodes, or maybe they tried shopping him and aren't getting what they want.

Knowing Tanny and how he operates...i'm sure he's got some irons in the fire regarding Rhodes.....

Telling the media that the Jets are going to keep him.....may cause one of the team's to jump and offer a little more for him.

We probably won't know anything till players like Rolle sign somewhere or if Tanny folds his hand and pays the roster bonus....like you mentioned in the OP.

I want that diva outta here.
We already have one guy in our secondary who doesn't want to hit anybody in Cromartie!

Me neither, but it's hardly the end of the world if he stays.

Reading the actual comments that Tannebaum made...I didn't come away thinking Rhodes was DEFINITELY going to be here. Tanny, as he usually does, said something like he fully expects Rhodes to be here as a part of the Jets as he is under contract unless something changes. A typical Tanny line...I do not come away reading that thinking, "Yep, Rhodes is a lock to be here."

Well, if Cro and Rhodes are ever covering the same side of the field, you know what direction they'll be running the ball.

He's worth more to us if we "want" him in 2010. If Tanny said, "We're looking to move him", he's worth less.

    Tanny's not a moron.

    From Rotoworld.com:
Take this for what it's worth but if the Jets are looking into Bethea than I doubt very much that Kerry is a lock to stay in NY. Tannenbaum would most likely be following his "leave no stone unturned" route if the rumors are true due to the price tag. As for Tannenbaum's comments about Rhodes staying, I doubt he would ever say straight up that Rhodes is on his way out. I have never seen Tannenbaum talk about a player like that.

Bethea has a 1st round tender.

    1-Is it worth it for a #1?
2- Could we even get him with the final 8 rule?

He's an RFA so the Final 8 would not restrict us at all, just our willingness to part with a 1st.

I could see a 2nd getting this done if we wanted it.

However I do think any trade for Carrie will happen on draft day if at all

Gotcha, I was thinking this, but I wasn't positive. I'm really hating this whole final 8 crap.

I like Bothea over Rhodes, but I'd hate to part with a #1. Although, if Rhodes is moved for a #3, I would be all about it. This draft seems pretty deep, but we just don't have the quantity of picks at this point.

He's due a roster bonus on March 12th. Any trade after that better be for a 2nd rounder or better if we're paying him his bonus.
