http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/Features/NFL+Features/2009/warner021509.htm Goodell volunteers to reduce his salary By PFW staff Feb. 15, 2009 NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is taking a pay cut as part of a leaguewide cost-cutting plan that freezes the salaries of all league employees. According to NFL.com, Goodell?s salary of $11 million for the league?s fiscal year ending March 31 is expected to be reduced by 20-25 percent, with his bonus to be determined later this spring. The commissioner has also agreed to freeze his salary for the ?09 season at $11 million although he was entitled to an automatic increase. Goodell ranks second in compensation among the commissioners of the major pro sports, according to SportsBusiness Journal, well behind Major League Baseball?s Bud Selig ($18.35 million) but ahead of the NBA?s David Stern (an estimated $10 million), the NHL?s Gary Bettman ($5.59 million) and the PGA Tour?s Tim Finchem ($4.8 million).
If these numbers are right than this is all insane. And Selig making $18M? He's the most incompetent of the bunch. Stern is the only one that even knows his ass from his elbow*. * Maybe Finchem does to, but I never even heard of him before.
Stern's house and boat in Fort Lauderdale are ridiculous. Sailed by it a couple months ago. He might live larger than some of his leagues athletes.
it only makes sense. I mean if the coaches are making 3-7 million by themselves, then it only makes sense the Comish is making 10+.
