Even if we don't take Ryan, and the Ravens don't want Ryan. If we could get a 2nd rounder for Pennington, I do it in a second.

Not true. He would be a nice fit for the Ravens. He will never set the world on fire with amazing throws, but if he is in a system where he can protect the ball and his defense can play well...chad can have alot of success. Having said that, a 2nd round seems like a high price for him, but a 3rd rounder seems very possible.
Considering the Texans asked for a 3rd rounder from MIN for Sage Rosenfals, a 2nd would make sense. Dont necessarily see it happening, but it makes sense. AJ Feeley and Daunte Culpepper both were able to net 2nd round picks in return so its more than fair as Chad is better than both those 2.
I think we are showing a lot of interest in matt ryan so that if all goes wrong and thats who we are stuck with it looks like we got who we wanted. truth is we want one of the other guys.
BAL doesnt have a 3rd rounder unless you count their compensation pick, which they cannot deal. And their 2nd round pick is 38 which is a VERY good pick and I dont think they would deal it for Pennington. Maybe its a 4th round pick this year and another pick in next year's draft, in which its a 4th that turns into a 3rd based on performance and Chad staying healthy for BAL.
If they have a deal for Pennington moving up to take Ryan would make a lot of sense. Mangini and Tannenbaum have told the fans through the media they hate the QB situation on the team and they went out and filled critical needs in FA. Think Pennington with more size, better movement and mechanics and a healthy arm. I could see Tannenbaum and Mangini really going for that combination.
Well I definately could see this team being after a QB like Matt Ryan whose forte is intelligence, intangibles and his decision making. But I doubt we go for him. Did we really give up on Kellen Clemens already? Let's see how he does after two major offensive line upgrades and a year of experience under his belt.
This must mean the Jets have decided on McFadden since they seem to be interested in every QB in the NFL. I'm waiting to hear they have secretly been negotiating with Vinnie next.
i say draft mcfadden, our O line is now built...put chad in at qb.... i mean look at the vikings...tavaris jackson is not a good qb....but with a good o-line and adrian peterson they almost made it to the playoffs...and chad >>>>tavaris
Ya know, everytime I hear one of these Chad rumers I can't help but think about how I would feel if Chad went to some other team and won the SB that year with them. I think about how insane it would make me to see Chad hoisting the Lombardi trophy in say a Baltimore jersey, or a Vikings uniform or worse (I wont even go there). Holy mother of all that is holy that would just about do it for me LOL!!!

I would give KC one more yr to show what he's worth and then go the other way. I would'nt mind a QB in the second round though.
