http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/feat...ttp://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/features/rumors I'm not an insider so if anyone is can they please post the article. All I saw was the headline and was shocked by it. I personally thought he would be back this week and having him out for the year would not be good for this teams playoff chances. Wasn't sure what other Sanchez thread to put this in so if a mod finds a good place for it just move it for me.
Calm down man I didn't say it was true or anything, thats why the title says RUMOR. I was just hoping someone could post the article so we could see what it's about.
lol....Man..he really jumped down your throat there didnt he? fuck outta here. I doubt Sanchez would have thrown a shit fit when told he was sitting out this week if deep down he knew there was a chance he would be out for the year.
its a quick two paragraphs. What it says is if the Jets lose to Tampa, its probably wise for them to shut down Sanchez. No mention of a setback, just addressing the fact that if we lose this week without him, why play him anymore. Is anyone shocked w are 3.5pt underdog.
Yeah I highly doubt that it's true. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he was back under center next week. But you never know, maybe the injury was worse then they thought it was and they don't want to injure anything further that could really hurt him in years to come.
It wouldn't be smart AT ALL to shut Sanchez down if there's no structural damage. Kid still needs the experience of being an NFL Quarterback.
Alright cool. Yeah that makes sense that they might rest him once the playoffs are out of reach to make sure he is 100 percent for next year. Good to hear there wasnt any new setbacks or something like that.
+1. Off-topic: Learned from Sanchez's press conference that the brace he wears on his plant foot is strictly prophylactic.
OK.. so basically this is all just speculation??.. I know ESPN would do anything to get you to subscribe.. but I mean.. no one has read the actual insider article yet right??
So its bullshit speculation saying that if the Jets lose on sunday, shut sanchez down.... ESPN is the MTV of sports. Stop watching ESPN
If he is not medically cleared he shouldn't play. If he risks serious injury by playing on the knee then he should shut it down. The Jets have a puncher's chance at the playoffs even if we beat TB. The wild card is that as far as I know none of us are orthopedic surgeons specializing in knee injuries. Further we actually have no idea as to the extent of the injury, likely recuperation, risk of further damage and prognosis etc. Unless you know those things its pretty much impossible to make an informed judgment as to whether Mark should play football next week. What we do know is that he has not been cleared to play football this week. The smart decision is pretty obvious: be conservative and don't rush him back in there for games with no playoff consequences at the end of the season. Clemens is totally expendable. Sanchez isn't.
ESPN Insider's rumor section is basically a non-free version of this site: http://theredzone.org/ At least for the football version, anyway.
Right and Farvre was fine too and wasn't playing the last 4 weeks with a ruptured biceps tendon in his throwing arm....
Just read Sanchez won't even travel with the team. I don't like that for two reasons. I think he would benefit from some sideline time, and if he can't even be the emergency QB, this injury could[./I] be more than some mild sprain. I think being on the sidelines for a game would help Sanchez. If he stays in NY, it won't. Yes, I'm surprised the Jets are dogs here. They will win by at least 6 points. I could see a 14 point win. Freeman looks promising, but he too is a rook. TB does not have much of a running attack, and with Revis on A Bryant, where does Freeman throw? I'll bet the farm on the Jets getting 3.5.
Jesus it is a PCL tear/sprain. It is not serious I had the same injury recently. It just takes time to strengthen the knee and heal. There isn't much risk to further injury as it is a freak occurence anyhow. The PCL is usually inured in a car accident. It is just fucking painful in the meantime both for rehab and reading retarded fucking posts.
It is just a mild sprain. Ryan's reasoning for not letting Sanchez practice tomorrow was because he knew Sanchez would wind up playing on Sunday, instead of resting like Ryan wanted to. As for the sideline time, there's nothing there that he cannot learn in front of a screen with the coaches' film.
