Its that time of year again (Jets vs. Pats time) and the Mangini/Belichick mind games are in full force. Both coaches have been very very sneaky about their top additions.

For the Jets its Thomas Jones. Im very surprised or scared? about the lack of updates on his status. It was reported a couple weeks back about being an achilles injury and he would be back for the opener. But I have an odd feeling that he's worse than the staff is letting on. For a running back, an "achilles" injury can be very cumbersome. I wouldnt be surprised if he is out for the game but Mangini is trying to distract his mentor.

For the Pats its Randy Moss. He was reported as having a hamstring injury in camp and didnt play a down of preseason. Also there was those crazy rumors of his release, that I didnt believe a second of. Honestly, I think Old Bill has been hiding him all preseason thinking the Jets will be preparing for Randy Moss of Oakland and not Randy Moss of Minnesota; which would be a BIG mistake. I wouldnt be surprised if Brady goes deep to Moss early on in the game, perhaps picking on Revis.

I hope im wrong on these situations and it sure is fun talking meaningful Jets football again. What are your thoughts?

    GO JETS

A lot of that makes sense, but if I were the Pats, and I wanted to go deep to Moss early, it wouldn't be against Revis. Revis can run, he's showed us that, so unless he bites on a fake, he's not going to get beat deep too often. Revis is our most athletic corner, and if I'm Belichick I'm going after the same guy I pick on every year, David Barrett

Who knows.. I'm thinking the Jets will get a heavy dose of 3 wide sets with Maroney in the back field..
