Buster Olney reports that Valentin will be out at least a month with an ACL related injury... He also reports that El Duque could miss tonights start with shoulder issues.
I guess we'll find out if there really are no other decent second basemen available anywhere in baseball. If he got hurt on that steal play, it was a pretty strange injury, since nothing seemed to happen. Valentin was hitting pretty well, which only reinforces that Delgado and Wright have to start hitting NOW (easley is 5 for his last 13, but it's probably not reasonable to expect that to continue).
The only good thing is Stache needed 400 at bats for his guaranteed contract to kick in next year and I, for one, would rather go younger.
