My best friend and I have played Madden for years...And in Madden 05', he used Baltimore and totally had me stifled with the 3-4 defense, beating me 2 games in a row. But after practicing against a 3-4, since all of my friends are a prodominant 4-3 team, I got it down... So from the middle of Madden 2005 up to yesterday, Madden 2007, I didn't lose to him, including of course, never losing in Madden 2006. EVERY single game I have used the Jets, that's the only team I use. And this year he gave me some scares, a 27-24 win at Denver, and a 31-24 win at Philadelphia. Well, yesterday we flipped on the PS2...Jets at Colts. I was down 7-3 when Miller fumbled a KR for a TD, already down 14-3. Alot of jaggering to fight back in it, and eventually, take the lead 27-24, to my surprise. I use Kerry Rhodes on defense...He never establishes a run game on me, but Addai had a good day, 4.1 YPC, so his playactions worked great when I was supposed to help Dyson, but twice it resulted in BOMB TDs to Harrison since I bit slightly... Well, he takes the lead 31-27, and I get 1st and goal at the 5 with 1:47 left. Leon gets no-gain, then Barlow gains 2. So 3rd and goal at the 3 and I call a playaction, Nick Harper blitzes and ASKEW IS WIDE OPEN IN THE FLAT, but I rushed the throw and tossed it to James Hodgins in the back of the endzone, incomplete, and I look in the flat and Askew is all by himself. So then on 4th and goal I come out of I-Form, hit Askew in the flat, but is smothered by Cato June. I have all my timeouts, but on 3rd and 5, he gets 6 yards with Addai, game over. Needless to say, he was going crazy while I just had to smirk. 2 years of beating him and I made his year, the game finished 31-27, 332 yards of offense for me, 332 yards of offense for him. :breakdance: So he's having a frenzy, going pretty much crazy. I knew it would happen, just not right there. He dominated my run game with McFarland, I couldn't call counters because everytime Moore would pull, he'd shoot through and get a loss, so I had to call slams and dives alot, not getting much. We played another game and I won 38-31, after he had a 28-16 lead. So he's gotten alot better, and Indy's offense is scary. Between Harrison, Wayne, Stokley, Clark and Addai, I don't have the speeed really...So i'm stuck in alot of Nickel defense so I can have Drew Coleman's speed on the field, but then that opens up the run since Thomas and Hobson are out. Manning's cone is the size of the field:sad:, but hey, I got to deal with it. Now hopefully I can start another streak.
halfback slam out of I-Formation is my favorite running play. How do you say you dont get much? I get 3 yards at least everytime.
I have trouble playing with the Jets because of Pennington. Even his line drive throws just float. My favorite play is the WR out and Pennington never has the arm strength to get it there. Winning that many games with them is pretty good.
Whenever I play the colts that is one play I refuse to let beat me, deep to harrison, they might get it once, but that's all.
that route that marvin runs its called like the 908 or something its like a c shaped route. Its almost impossible to stop its so frusterating
I'm more of a counter-run guy. I can do the slams and dives, I just don't like them much as compared to the counters...I like running behind Askew and Moore/Kendall, pending on which side I run to set up my blocks... The Harrison bomb is deadly...You pretty much can't call a Cover-3 at all, always man to man with 2 deep over the top, and the pass-rush is just non-existant rushing 3. And when I do blitz, Dallas Clark will burn Hobson or Thomas easily, and if I come down to help, boom, their it goes to Marvin.
It's back...After that win late Saturday night I have now made him quit the last 2 games...Changing my defensive scheme to more coverage rather than blitzing... 27-7 he quit...35-10 he quit...Doesn't go on my profile since we didn't finish, booooo.
That sucks man... Lemme ask you something, where'd you find Hodgins? I can't seem to find him on any teams...
I looked at IGN's Madden 06' ratings and he was there...He is an 85 overall but I put him down to 82 overall. I have just about everyone...Riddle, Spencer, Drew Coleman, Hodgins, Wade Smith, Norm Katnik... And this also includes every other team...Including Dexter Wynn on the Texans...Yeah i'm updated:breakdance:
dude, if he is going to be a baby like that, stop playing him. heck, I would reconsider my friendship with him. it's a friendly video game between friends, but if he is taking it that serious that he can't finsih the beating he is already getting he is taking the "friendly" out of it.
Wow end a friendship with a guy because he quits in madden ? That's a little harsh don't ya think ? Even though it may be relative to his characther so I can kind of see what your saying.
It's not that bad, he's probably quit at least 50 games in Madden 07; alone...I don't really mind, but if it's in the 4th quarter, I make sure to finish the game, but he'll quit in like the 3rd quarter or even 2nd quarter... The best was 24-3 with 2:57 to go in the 1st, he quit.
true, but stop playing him entirely. if he doesn't have anyone else to play, maybe he will reconsider his behavior.
You should've kick a FG on 4th, cut it to a 1 pt game, then do an onsides kick. And you still have 3 TO's if you don't recover. Now I play ps2 online all the time. After a 3-3 start, I saw myself at 23-3. Then it started, I would go into a game against a random opponent, and when he lines up for the first play (after kickoff) I get an error reading "the connection to your opponent has been lost" but without the options to play cpu or end the game. Takes me back to the main screen and I'm charged with a loss and a quit. I check his career, he is also charged with a loss and a quit. Ever since then this glitch has been continuous. I'm now 40-15 with a 16% DNF rating when I have never quit once, take away my glitch losses and I'm 40-6. Everytime I win about 3 games in a row it happens, which prevents me from ever getting off lvl 14.
