Now that first round of cutdowns are almost here....what's your call for surprising cuts and surprising guys to make the roster.

Most surprising cut - Jaiquan Jarett

Surprising guy to make roster - Edds

Would be shocked if - Salas didn't make it

5 out of 12 of our draft picks make the 53..

Pryor, Amaro, Dozier, Saunders (if healthy), and IK.

George will be a tough cut as he may not clear waivers for the PS. Edds has outplayed him on ST and at LB though. he's not ready yet.
IK no lock either, as Troy Davis playing well. either way, a good LB will unfortunately be cut.

choices will be real tough on the Dline, Safety, and RB.
can we dangle Ellis, D Rich, or Jarrett to try and get a CB in here?

i think he'll essentially redshirt. protected on the 53, but never activated. he could use some seasoning, but they won't risk losing him this year. too many developmental lineman eating up roster spots in my opinion.

Dozier was drafted as a project and not expected to play this year like Aboushi last year. reports from camp have all been positive about Dozier that he has been impressive and ahead of schedule.

You wouldn't be able to trade those players for a better CB than is already on the roster.

There may even be waiver wire casualties better than CB's currently on our roster.

something i noticed Friday in regards to Reilly... he was playing on ALL the starting special teams units.
so maybe he does have a chance after all. i just think it will be difficult to choose between Davis, IK, and Reilly. can't keep them all, as i expect we will keep McIntire. If the 'competition' is truly fair, Davis has outplayed both. IK was unfortunately inactive against the Giants with a foot issue.

I'm not so sure about that. Ellis is a darned good player and he plays a premium position for 3-4 D teams. He would be starting on a lot of teams, and if it weren't for his legal issues and injuries, would probably be starting here. Find a team who just lost their starter or key backup at NT or whose NT blows, and you might be able to get a pretty good CB if that team has some depth. And if that team also has some depth concerns at RB, add in D Rich and you should be able to get a solid starting caliber CB.
