The Jets beat the Bills. The media narrative? "Josh Allen had a terrible game!" The Jets take the Chiefs to the brink only to be ripped of by corrupt NFL officials. The media narrative? "Patrick Mahomes had a terrible game!" The Jets beat the Eagles. The media narrative? "Jalen Hurts had a terrible game!" Perhaps every team that plays the Jets should just start their backup QB to avoid their starter having a terrible game?
Other than Dak Prescott this defense made everyone look below average. Guess why we made Dak look like a super star. Brook travelled to Dallas for that game. Yep. I am a lucky charm like that.
I sat in the rain for that NE game, so I'm there with you bro.... I'm not a darksider but that game STILL pisses me off. Definitely should be 4-2.
Can't help but notice that the D is still kicking ass with 2 PS guys at corner. What to make of this? IMO, it shows that the defensive structure is excellent and we can plug and play guys and still be productive. This then begs the question of why we are using 2 of the best corners in the game in such a system? Are we not wasting their talents if in fact we can play PS guys and have the same outcome? Maybe its time to be more agressive with Sauce. Also just want to say the defensive adjustments to Hurts scrambling were GENIUS. It appeared to me we largely went with a 3 man rush with 2 spies and a zone beyond that. Hurts could run around all day but he wasn't getting a good field to throw against.
We forced him to play Quarterback and he could not do it. We got burned early with his running around making plays but he cannot sit in the pocket and sling the rock.
https://x.com/OptimisticJets/status/1713704933482955043 #Jets defense against 3 of the top 5 QB’s in the league: Josh Allen: 236 yards, 1 TD, 3 INTS Pat Mahomes: 203 yards, 1 TD, 2 INTS Jalen Hurts: 280 yards, 1 TD, 3 INTS
This is sick shit man--If somehow we get Rodgers back and make the playoffs holy shit--what a story this could be.
Exactly. Defensive Line shut down the run and Eagles plays had to slow develop. And we were ready for that. Master Defensive play calling yesterday.
Good observation. I think this means exactly what you said - the Jets need to move Sauce around and tell him to go pick the ball off. Not for anything either but those corners played their balls off yesterday.
Was listening to the Badlands podcast this morning with Joe Cap and Connor Rogers and Connor was talking about how it was awesome watching Saleh and Ulbrich move the corners all around, none of them were locked into the same spot over and over. Ashtyn Davis, Craig James, whoever the hell Hayes is.. really well done yesterday Also Bryce Huff up to 50% snap yesterday.
Shout out to Bryce Hall too--i was scared when he was named starter 2 games ago and he's held his own and more.
