Terrific Sunday for me too.. Daughter's first birthday party (she's not 1 until 12/28, but try getting a place for 75 people then), 11-2, then Jets game.
Besides watching KC lose my day will be made when I again see the Herms befuddle look. They are a great xtra to the Sunday tix & makes paying for it seem even easier. His looks are truly worth the price of admission to the show
Arlen Spectre is looking at the exclusiveness of the Sunday Ticket package. I'd like nothing more then to have some good, old fashioned open market competitiveness with this thing.
Well he is pissed caused his cable company has not signed on to the NFLN & I guess he is el cheapo he did not subscribe to DirecTV or Dish network he has no access to the NFLN games. It is not DirecTV that is making the policy it is in essence the 32 owners of the NFL who are dictating there terms to the cable company thru the NFLN. Typical of just another knucklehead pol who does not even know where to look for the true facts
Wow, you're pretty wrong here, Champ. The NFL has an anti-trust exemption which they believe applies to their ability to negotiate exclusive broadcast rights, and Specter believes that it doesn't. You have to understand that not everyone can even get Directv, Champ. If your neighbor has a tree blocking a clear view of the southwest sky, your out of luck. There are large areas that cannot get it because of the geographical layout. Besides, Directv rapes HD subscribers. I know, I know. Nobody is forcing me to pay the extra $100 for Superfan so I can see all the HD broadcasts, but if Dish also carried the Ticket, we could get some competition here, and maybe the price could be lowered a bit. Competition is always good, Champ.
Tony - Seriously, don't you think Arlen Specter, a US Senator, should be concerning himself with more important things than NFL Sunday package? All kidding aside, I don't care what anyone thinks about the Iraqi war (i.e. whether you are Rep/Dem, Con/Lib), we have soldiers dying in combat without adequate body armor, vehicle armor, etc. I think a US Senator should be concentrating on more important issues like protecting our troops than ensuring that NFL Sunday Package is offered to all cable companies in the US. Funny that 'ole magic bullet Specter brings this topic up this year. Given that he is from Pennsylvannia, perhaps now that the Squeelers and Beagles have been playing crappy he is pissed he can't see some meaningful December games?
Somewhere you missed something. Take Time Warner they are refusing to take the NFLN cause they want to offer it to there subscribers as a premium channel like HBO or Showtime. The NFLN says no way will you charge xtra for our channel so where ever TW furnishes cable service unless there customer also has DirecTV or Dish Network the TW customer is out of luck. Also your guy behind the tree excuses is a real reach. Sure it may occur here or there but so long as you can have SW exposure I am sure the DirecTV installers can get around that problem
Well to my way of thinking the games I mentioned are more important to us then the NE/Mia game. I will switch in & out of the NE game during the commericals in the other games
Nevermind, Champ. I forgot your complete inability to understand logic and reason. You're right, he's just being cheap.
Pretty exciting game for me too. It will be my daughter's first Jet game. She was born Tuesday. I guess she's been there for the past 9 months (she even made the trip up to the exciting Indy game), but this is her first on the outside.
Yes...these last 4 weeks are the real thing for football madman(and women)like us all. I can still gauge my preseason anticipation against it...and this had been a WONDERFUL year...and DIRECTV is god! as regards Herm...all I want for Christmas is him acting like the slow learner he is and screwing up the end of a KC game......AGAIN!....truly one of my favorite things away from my Jets!
How about the gated communities that simple dont allow dishes on there roofs or Manhatten where entire buildings dont allow dishes or apartment complexs no dishes ect... those people cant get the NFL package because DTV paid top dollar And $350/season is a bit pricey I go to the 8 home games so that leaves 9 weeks so thats $70 /week to watch games other then the 5 that you get with standard broadcast TV (2 1:00 games 1 4:00 game 1 8:30 game 1 monday night) If it were say around $150-$200 maybe
