Thanks to those who voted for me. As we all know, this badge of honor is also often used as a club, so I'll just repeat now what I've said before and what we all know - that this is not about football knowledge, as there are many people on this board (including several of the other candidates for this award) who easily surpass me in that regard. Getting an award named after Green Guy is also a great honor.
I am glad to finish second once again (three years in a row) because I do not want to win this award. If I had won it, I think I'd lay low for a year like ThunderbirdJet. I do appreciate the votes I received. I know at least some people enjoy my contributions to the message board. I do not like this award in part because it has never been clearly defined.
^ I wrote about that in the Primetime Kid trash talking thread last night. Here is an excerpt, edited a tad for this thread- I do not like (this) award. Nor do I like the Least Knowledgable Award. The latter seems particularly cruel and the former is hard to determine. For what it is worth, I believe without a doubt statjeff22 won the Most Knowledgable Award last year and hopefully this year based on his posts in the Bullshit and Baseball forums. I write this because I don't think he brings more football knowledge than the other seven people up for that award. Two years ago, I suggested that award should be eradicated and replaced with something different. Let's have a Mr. Football Award so that it is clear that we are talking about pure football knowledge as opposed to some football/some bullshit/some baseball etc. statjeff22 is to me a better candidate (and a strong one at that) for TGG MVP and TGG Most Respected. Sheer football knowledge is more for a guy like NDMick or Beamen or MBGreen or Murrell2878, etc.
I agree with this 100%. I will also admit that the one award I was hoping to win was the Most Respected, although ending up 1 vote behind winston is obviously nothing to be unhappy about.
