For me...the unbelievable just happened. Jets just stole Cromartie from Chargers for basically nothing....this gives the Jets bookend CB's...

Jets still have Rhodes, still have there draft picks.....I'm just so fuk'n xcited ....this is unreal. I can't wait to see there next few moves & who they draft. Remember Jets like to trade up.

I really believe the Tanny/Rex combo will really produce even better quality players being brought in.....Also, don't be surprised to see Jets re-sign Thomas Jones for less money; Because you can believe he wants to come back to Jets & get some more of this Jets-Love-Fest goin' down.....

Superbowl or not....Jets will be even more fun to watch next season. I can't wait....Even if I die, I'll watch it all from heaven....

    P.S. .....I'm so glad Pats & Belichek didn't get there hands on Cromartie.....Phew !!!!!!

Tanny truly is one of the most underrated GMs in this league. He flat out gets things done.

How is a 3rd if not probably 2nd round draft pick nothing ?

That would be like us giving away Shonn Greene for Antrel Rolle and saying hey we got Rolle for nothing.

But if we could manipulate the stipulations to make sure we only give up a 3rd round pick for him (assuming its similar to Litos contract and is performance base, rather than like Favres that depended on us winning) I think its a complete steal.

For a 2nd rounder its still a good deal assuming Cromartie pans out well.

He is saying that a 3rd round pick next year is basically worth a 4th round pick this year.

Jets aren't feeling a thing this season & always trade there picks away anyway....Dude....Jets didn't have to lose a draft pick for this season or a player...They basically got a credit or a steal...in my book. They didn't have to lose a player.....Thats huge...in my book !!!!!

I mean next year were gonna be adressing Trich retiring, Big Jenks getting old, and a few guys on our offensiveline being at the ends of their careers.

We could be very well missing that pick. But as long as Cro performs well its impossible not to be happy with this, its just not free though.

Gotta be really grateful though that its next years pick and not this one. Especially since the Chargers have no ground game anymore, lost their corner, and also get screwed by the final 8 rules this year

I think there's a strong argument to be made that Tannenbaum is the best GM in the NFL. Sure, he hasn't won anything yet, but this team is built for the future and his list of brilliant moves wouldn't even fit in this post. His only real blunder is Gholston.

Do you not have the ability to visualise more than one year in the future?

LOL...you guys are happy now but just wait. The guy will have you screaming at the TV.
    Been there, done that!

Good luck with what we consider a team cancer.

Just a short list off the top of my head:

    -Trading up for Revis
    -Trading up for Harris
    -Trading up for Greene
    -Trading up for Sanchez
-Getting a 1st for Abe, then turning that into Mangold, and securing the OL for years to come with Nick & Brick
    -Trading up for Keller
    -Stealing Jenkins for a 3rd and a 5th
    -Stealing Edwards for a 3rd and a 5th
-Resigning Cotchery to a great deal
    -Drafting Leon in the 4th
-Knowing who we wanted in FA when we had all the cap room and then going out and getting them done -- Faneca, T-Rich, Pace (and wooing Pace away from MIA)
    -A future 3rd for Cromartie
-Trading a 3rd for Favre (didn't work out the way we all hoped, but I'd still do that deal over if I had too)
-Getting Sheppard for only a 5th (same as above)
-Signing Scott, Douglas & Leonhard last offseason
    -Hiring Rex Ryan

That's a pretty damn good track record for a guy who got the job just four years ago.

Also forgot about getting TJ and a late 2nd for an early second two years ago...what a steal that was.

Tanny has become a top 3 GM in the NFL. This is a great trade, your getting a corner with all the talent in the world and if he's motivated along with revis its going to be a tough day passing on us. An we got him for a 2011 pick not even a 2010 and its a third rounder and maybe a 2nd rounder, Great fucking job once again M.T.

He is redefining building a team. Every year I say to myself..well this year Tanny will use the draft to get better and add depth.

Lets face it..its not happening with Tanny. Never will.

Tannys idea of building a winner is picking out stars in the draft and surrounding them with depth in free agency. He is willing to draft 4 or 5 players only..but make at least 1 or 2 of them worthwhile.

Right now..even without the ring..its working as a poster above has shown with some great trade ups.

And there may not even be football in 2011 so what does that make the pick worth?

Mr. T has been the best GM we ever had. He's changed the way you draft, has any Gm ever traded up so many times and gone for quality over quantity year after year. Revis, Harris, Keller, Sanchez and Greene come to mind. None of these guys would be a Jet if he stood still . And he's not afraid to let of go of players who have contributed like TJ and Coles. Remember, it always better to get rid of someone one year to early then one year to late. I love GM's that don't get emotionally attached to a player. I think this year we don't give away picks because we only have 5 and we can't fill spots through FA. We are in good hands with the Front Office, head coach and owner for years to come. To bad the new stadium will be 20% short of capacityy

There will still be a NFL Player draft next year

Tanny has been under appreciated by the fan base here. It's nice to see that changing.
