Amen to that, my day would not have been complete with this amazing news breaking crucial information
ESPN is reporting that the I-Beam was never signed and he my still go to another organization. Why does this always happen to the Jets?
who's the i-beam? Can't see the link lol edit: now that i can see it LOL....man i feel stupid.i thought it was a nickname for someone like Igor Olshansky
The knock on Final I-Beam is that he's too rigid and doesn't move well. It's not a bad signing if you consider his strengths... strong as an ox and carries the load pretty well. Still, he takes up immense Cap space and will probably be a locker room distraction. Woody probably shouldn't have signed I-Beam.
Wow..that article says the stadium is months ahead of schedule. We all know it won't stay there, this is NY unions after all.
I heard on the radio that it's so far ahead of schedule that they're expecting completion by December '09. I always thought that I'd be excited about a new Jets stadium, but nowadays, I'm like "BFD." This isn't a football stadium, it's a grandiose, obnoxiously luxurious, egregiously outlandish, over-the-top expensive, five-star state-of-the-art "experience" that happens to be built around a rectangular space just big enough to play a football game in.
What I don't get..(actually I do)..is how this thing can cost 50% more than the new Dallas stadium and when you compare the two it's a joke. On top of that we didn't even have to buy the land, that was given. 1.6 billion vs. 1.1. http://stadium.dallascowboys.com/
Couple that with the biggest factor of all... the fact that the costs are supposedly being "shared." That's how it was sold to the public at inception. I think what's happening is that Woody and Mara have front-end loaded every expense that is not borne by the state of NJ. In other words, not only the raw cost of the stadium, but all other infrastructure costs, railhead construction costs, parking area, curbing, signage, storefronts, inside and outside restaurants, parking toll booths, lighting, you name it, that is not being picked up and paid for with public money. I believe they've taken every single auxilliary cost involved and jammed it into the PSL package, which means you're having the season ticketholder pick up the tab for long term items with shelf life exceeding 30-40 years (paving, road work, etc) and expecting the ticketholders to pay that all up front under the guise of the "personal seat license." What a freakin' crock this whole thing has turned into.
