Let me start. In no particular order here is what goes thru my mind. Please add yours. - Steelers game gave me false hope about offense and Justin Fields. Bills game was a reality check for me. Lowering my expectations at this time. - Giving 30+ back to back games. What the heck? Wilkis is the experienced DC and AG is from the defensive side. Saleh sucked but at least his teams had good defensive identity. Show your worth AG. Do something please. - Apparently team played and undisciplined football. AG calls for accountability. How will he address them without losing the locker room? - Team looked like they quit yesterday and AG sounded lost after the game. Very concerning for future.
I said it in another thread but AG should just throw this game tape out in front of the team and tell them they need to move on. Sometimes coaches do that when you get smoked although you obviously can’t make it a habit. There isn’t much teachable shit from that game. We were awful in almost all facets of the game. The penalties need to get fixed but I also empathize a bit with the defensive backs that weren’t getting away with a tiny tug here and there. Sometimes teams get a ref that allows them to play a bit more. Amazingly we only had 5/35 but they had to all be on 3rd down it was insane.
If we keep cutting idiots there won't be enough guys to put on the field by the end of the year. This roster needs a very thorough turnover. So evidently does the CS.
Biggest takeaways: - this is another busted season that feels like it is over after the first week or two - the Jets still do not have a franchise QB (and haven't had one for decades) and they will continue to be in rebuilding mode until they fix that (which seems to be impossible) - the receiving corp is not good - the offensive line looked OK overall - the defense looks bad - always giving up big plays when they are most needed - not impressed by any of the coaching staff so far
Yes, and the problem is we have historically and consistently shown that we have no idea how to pick “the guy” We have fucked so many high draft picks on QB you’d think just by shear luck we would have hit on one already…Sanchez, Darnold, Wilson…all top 5
My biggest takeaway is, why do I waste my Sundays on this team, the team should give a apology to all of us, for year after year, selling us this product. I see ZERO indicators that this will change, or that the team is heading in the right direction.
I'm going to have to agree with the Burn the Tape mentality here. Except for the penalties... I think that, for every STUPID personal foul penalty, that player should run the ENTIRE STADIUM during Tuesday's practice. I would sit the entire team at the 50 yard line and make them watch. Yeah, I get it, hey are professionals yada yada yada. Well, if they were professionals then it's high time they ACT like it. Not sure the collective bargaining agreement but I don't think the team can hit them in the wallet. If that's the case then I say make em' work. Also, I think cutting Clemons, who is a penalty machine, especially the stupid variety, is the right way to go but I can see how that might prove difficult. If I'm A.G. I call this fool out in the next defensive meeting. I'd get a staffer to make a chart of EVERY penalty Clemons has been charged with and paint a picture as to what that did to the team at the time of the penalty. Couldn't get off the field on 3rd down, such as yesterday, or any of the other boneheaded shit he's done. Embarrass his ass. If you can't cut him then make him accountable! There are 100 ways AG could handle this that gets the point across. The one that doesn't work for me is ignoring and moving on. SOMETHING needs to get through to these idiots.
my takeaway is disgust with this coaching staff and the playrs. Until, proven otherwise, this teamis is as bad as last years, i.e., dumb penalities, poor execution, bad Game Plans on both side of the ball.... I read all of your posts (and that you all) as well as other sites, to see how they are playing... not wasting $$$ on this team UNTIL the start to WIN games CONSISTNTLY.
Benching him is the most effective if you have resources. When your bench is bare the move can have an even worst impact to the team. But in principle I totally agree with you. Accountability requires firm correction when violated.
I do understand the cupboard is bare. He obviously can't cut everybody but, yeah, something needs to resonate with this crew of fools. I'm sorry, I simply can't accept that this brand new coaching staff sat around with their thumb up their asses all week not preparing these men. Let me state that again, MEN! These are grown ass men who need to man up and accept their fuckups. Watching Glenn's reaction on that sideline, especially after the Clemons fuck up, tells me that he may end up having a damn heart attack before we're mid-way through the season. I mean, when you don't give a shit, you slap 5 and act all "happy go lucky" ala watching Saleh. When you give a shit you loose freakin' hair. Hell, Glenn will be even more gray than he already is by the end of this turd debacle.
I like the idea of a few seats right in the middle of the bench that no one sits in unless the coach sends him to sit there, away from the rest of his group. Hand him a tablet to watch his play a few times. One play, the rest of the series, the next series, the rest of the quarter? Whatever it takes to get the guy to think about why he's there. Kid stuff? Humiliating? Probably, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Again, winning games this season is secondary to building a team for the future, so as long as there's a warm body for the position, sitting and thinking is not a bad thing. Especially the thinking part.
I think we can safely cut all the idiots, but we probably need to keep all the morons and maybe even a few imbeciles. For now. "(imbecile) originally referred to people of the second order in a former and discarded classification of intellectual disability, with a mental age of three to seven years and an IQ of 25–50, above "idiot" (IQ below 25) and below "moron" (IQ of 51–70)."
