Everyone has 20/20 hindsight on this board. Farrior was underwhelming when he was here, and I had no problem whatsoever when he was let go. Of course, now everyone says they saw what a great player he'd be. Heh.
Harpua provided the correct answer. In 1996, the Jets had the 1st selection. They brought in Lawrence Phillips and Keyshawn Johnson to Hempstead for interviews. Simeon Rice and Jonathan Ogden? Maybe them, too. I don't recall. I don't remember the Jets having any interest in Cedric Jones (went to Giants with the 5th pick) and I don't think they had much interest in Kevin Hardy (went #2 to Jacksonville). I am fairly certain it was Sterling Sharpe who criticized the Jets for drafting Johnson. He thought Marvin Harrison was going to be a much better pro. Harrison went 19th to Indianapolis.
how could he be to small for the 3-4 when he went to a 3-4 Pitt and shined even more *shrugging shoulders* can you believe that
Farrior's 4th year with the Jets was great. He played outside LB in the 4-3 had a ton of tackles and at least two int. He wanted a ton of money and the Jets offered like half of what he wanted and he was let go. He came back to the Jets to accept the offer but the Jets had signed Sam Cowart (because their new DC loved him from Buff). Sam was coming off a very bad injury and was never the same player. Farrior went on to bigger and better career and paydays. I always thought it was stupid to let him go
i wouldnt ever call it stupid, however it turned out very well for farrior and if i remember it went well pretty quick. his first or second year in pitt i remember hearing about how well he was doing all the time. at that point it hurt a little but now i just wish him the best as he seems to be a pretty good guy amongst a group of pretty good guys.
