Murder victim at ex-Jet Jonathan Vilma's home had ties to con men BY Alison Gendar DAILY NEWS POLICE BUREAU CHIEF Sunday, April 5th 2009, 4:00 AM One of the men killed in a Long Island condo belonging to ex-Jets linebacker Jonathan Vilma had links to a crew of Philadelphia con men, sources said. Liberian immigrant Sekou Sakor, whose body was found March 27 dumped in Jamaica Bay, is believed to have been executed in revenge for his role in an elaborate fraud known as the "black money" scam. Cops think Sakor and a buddy were murdered in Vilma's empty home. The ex-Jet, who now plays for the New Orleans Saints, is not suspected in the case. Vilma's sister, cousin and real estate agent had access to the condo. The Daily News has learned that Sakor, 31, was arrested last October in upper Manhattan, along with 24-year-old Almamy Kamara in a case that has since been sealed. A few months later, in January, Kamara and an accomplice were arrested in Philadelphia for running a black money con, according to court records. In the scam, West African con men claim to be able to tap into streams of illicit money being smuggled out of Africa disguised as black pieces of paper. The hustlers claim to have the chemicals needed to clean the black paint off the cash and will sell them - for a price. Kamara lured his marks to a Philadelphia hotel with the promise of doubling the victims' money if they showed up with $17,000, law enforcement sources said. Once in the hotel, Kamara grabbed the real money and showed the victims what he claimed were blackened $100 bills on the bed. The victims got suspicious and managed to call police despite being pistol-whipped, sources said. Kamara and a pal were arrested on charges of robbery and criminal conspiracy and released on $25,000 bail.
