Its up to 0-20 now.. The Fan base frankly is burned out on all the losses. We're hoping not to get embarrassed, instead of win. That's how bad it is these days in JetNation.
This is how burned out I am and how desperate they are. I have NEVER received e-mail like this, ever. In the last month I have received a couple and I finally decided to respond. What I wrote: Hi Jenna, I am receiving these and, while appreciate you reaching out, I'm a member of the fanbase that would like Woody Johnson to sell the team to someone a bit more competent. I've basically stopped giving the organization money because the product on the field has been so bad for so long. I know it's not your role and you're just doing your job and I appreciate that. Maybe if you could reach out after they have a winning season or two? My apologies for wasting your time. Thanks! Signed, Jets fan hoping they have a winning season before I die... Please let me know if you are receiving these and if you would be interested in bringing a group out to a Jets game this season. Could I help set up a quick call to learn more? You get the same canned emails no matter what. I’ve gotten almost the exact same thing word for word from a different person trying to get me to buy group tickets. I’m gonna assume you get nothing back or something trying to get you on the phone. I had a guy hounding me to buy season tickets, told him my dad has owned them since the 80s, and his only response was to ask me to call him to see if I’d be interested in buying more.
A few (ok maybe a bit more than a "few"... 5-10?) years back, I had a sales-rep call me, asking if I'm interested in buying season tickets. "uhhh... you do realize I live in Florida right?! " "I do see that was your address on file, but figured it's worth a check" "Sorry man, I'm over 1000 miles away.... besides Maybe if you guys didn't screw over the long time season tickets holders with PSLs you wouldnt be having a hard time"
Honestly, I think they’re trying to get a read on Metchie and Mitchell by starting Tyrod for a couple games before handing it over to Cook to finish out the season. I don’t care what anyone says, Mitchell had two opportunities where he was wide open only to have Fields throw two of the shittiest balls imaginable, and somehow because Mitchell happened to get his hands on them still he ends up taking the flack for it. Starting Tyrod allows us to run a standard offense and see if these two are going to be contributors for the future. I think, barring injury, we’re gonna see 3 starts out of Tyrod before they move to evaluate Cook.
Fields is QB2 this week. Not smart. I'd say there's a better than 50/50 chance Tyrod's backup ends up playing in any game Tyrod starts.
I don't know. This is the NFL. The expectation is, you put your hands ON the ball, you CATCH the ball. Shouldn't matter who is throwing and how bad the duck ball looks. The crossing route there is zero excuses. I can let the one deep ball go seeing as, if Fields actually leads the kid, it's a TD vs. him having to stop/slow down to adjust.
The crossind route was a flat out drop, agreed. The deep sideline route he had 2 steps on the defenders and had to slow up and catch it over his shoulder blind with the defenders draped on him. That was a terrible throw. Then there’s the wheel route/out and up where he had no one anywhere near him, that throw was inexcusable in every regard. At the end of the PC Glenn was talking about players making plays for Fields, now Fields is on the bench. Why? Most likely because when you watch those throws on tape you realize how awful the throws were.
