Agreed. But the idea of this just means we are going to be out of position for the QB we want. If that's the case and there is no trade up. We better be drafting DE/DT , MLB , SS. To fix the teeth of this defense it's atrocious

This is exactly why you don't see me jumping from joy when Atlanta drops an easy catch against us to get into the FG range at the end to win and we end up 7th instead of 2nd in the draft. The QB cavalry is not coming via free agency or a trade. The only guy I can see with some upside there is Tanner McKee, and he is another low probability lottery ticket. Others are not even lottery tickets, just feeble attempt to use some warm bodies to plug a hole. Which is why I am convinced we will be drafting a QB in the 1st round this year and it will be one of the 4 guys we discussed. Really one of the 3 guys because Sellers I think will not declare.

Yeah, I suppose Mills is also like a lottery ticket along with McKee. These two guys are the best of the bunch. And you have to trade assets to get them. A bit depressing...

The best situation for the Jets is for all three QBs to end the season and playoffs on a high note. If Moore doesn’t declare and or Mendoza/Simpson have a poor last game the likelihood of us picking a QB with the first pick is far, far less likely. Which quite frankly would not upset me much. We can strengthen much needed critical positions on defense.

Why would the Texans move Mills? He helped save their season this year and they extended him through 2026 on an extremely team friendly deal. You’re not getting Mills unless you’re giving up a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

There’s also some recently bias here about him. He’s ok. He was awful in the first half against Buffalo despite the defense dominating. He was ok on a really bad roster his first couple years. There’s pretty limited upside though. He’s a check it down guy.

If NYJ wants Will Levis, - it would probably be a trade somewhat similar to the Zach Wilson trade to Denver.
NYJ traded Wilson + a 7th rounder to the Broncos for a 6th rounder. NYJ + Denver also ended up split 50/50 the $5.5 million payment Wilson was due that season.

They wouldn't. And same with Philly, they are very unlikely to part with McKee without a very good comp back. Though he is on his last year, and Roseman does like to get capital before a guy leaves, but it may not be cheap. And same for Mac Jones for these who want him. But the point here is that pickings in the FA/trade market are extraordinary slim.

I think Mendoza cleaned up a lot of the goofiness yesterday and delivered a really good Heisman speech. He’s still a little corny but well done yesterday.

No tearful acceptance speech? I had family stuff going yesterday so missed the ceremony. How did the kid from Vanderbilt do?

Look, Mendoza definitely looks at least like he has the potential, physically, to be an NFL QB. I still have serious reservations as to whether or not his mental makeup can handle things.

Not disagreeing. Pavia looks like Manziel 2.0, which is far worse than what Mendoza has shown

It was emotional but it wasn’t crying gross face like a teenage girl that just got dumped like he was after they beat Ohio State.

I don’t think Pavia ever had a NFL future anyways to be honest. I’ve read online that he’s really 5’9”ish. But he did himself a big disservice being a schmuck at he nightclub and on social media after he lost.

He would’ve won if he beat Texas & Alabama like Mendoza beat Oregon & Ohio State.

Pavia from Vanderbilt made an ass outta himself by tweeting “f all the voters” on social media

"the voters" include decades of college football legends that spilled sweat and blood on the field so that he could get paid, transfer 3 times, and get 6 years of eligibility like he has. So it was a total dick move on his part.

It's time to go out there and trade for Joe Burrow. I think if there's ever a chance it is now let's trade whatever we have to trade to get him. as history has shown, we can't develop a toilet seat we should stop wasting high draft picks on quarterbacks and get a proven star.

JoeB has become a bit brittle in his young age. He'd be a nice addition if he can stay on the field. I would not mortgage the future for him though.

Pavia is too short. It was funny looking at Sayin at the ceremony towering over him. And Sayin is undersized himself at about 6-0! 5-9 may be generous for this guy. The is clearly talented, but there is almost no chance to succeed at the NFL level with this height.

I don't care about Mendoza's crying at all after this interview or Ohio st. As long as he plays well, he can cry a river after win conference championship or if he wins MVP for us. I don't know why people get hung up on that, just play well and win, which is what Mendoza has done. If we come out with him or Moore from the draft, I think there will be some hope.

Ok think I might get killed for this but here is my thought.

3 weeks so can change. To get from 5-1 we'd have to give up 5 and 17. If not more like a 2nd. If we did I'm ok with it. That being said this team needs so much. I'm ok if we don't trade up for it knowing we need so much. 5 take Tate, Reese, Baily or Downs. Tate and Wilson would be great. Reese and Baily help at Edge and Downs everyone says is great.

At 17 lb and edge seem to be best fits there. If we don't go Tate maybe Love the rb or Sidiq the tight end.

In the second round take the qb. Mateer, or Maiava seem the two second round qb. Maybe Nussmeir but seems third round for him.

The other second best available. Would love to get Mendoza but seeing we need so much on both sides trading up might be too much. I know we'll fill some with free agency but trading up still might be too much. 3 weeks left. Things can change.

We've been screwed ever since we beat the Browns. We'd be drafting 2nd right now (behind a team that doesn't need a QB) if we had lost to them. Beating the Falcons didn't help either.

But hey, at least our "culture" improved right?

Now we're stuck debating whether we should trade up and how many first rounders we're going to have to give up to do it. This is a 1 QB draft. Was beating the Browns worth giving up multiple first round picks? How many years are we going to win worthless games and have it bite us in the ass before we realize it's asinine to do?

Yep truly sucks. Also the lack of QBs in this draft means more competition and bidding war for Mendoza potentially if the Giants or Titans end up with the #1 pick.
