Rex isn't the OC. Why would he have an explanation for that? That's like asking MM about why the defense blew coverage on the first Pats TD.
Wow Geno homers are as bad as Sanchez homers. Two bad passes all night? All three INTs were bad passes. The first one was thrown behind the WR. He missed several throws to open WRs and missed finding several more who were open. Lets not over rate his passing last night.
This team has a bad case of delusion: Sanchez: "I thought I played well tonight" Hill: "I thought I played well tonight" absolute delusion.
What's just as delusional is completing ignoring the positive contributions he made, considering he was our leading WR 4 REC, 86 YDS...just like he was last week. It's also delusional to shun that's he's a young player at a position that historically needs time for seasoning. So while the quote is disturbing...so is dwelling completely on the downside.
No offense Barcs... Drinking the Sanchez kool-aid, your hero is gone...you can root for the team now...
Looked the same to me. Mark was always good for two or three great throws a game mixed with a bunch of bad ones. Thats kind of what Geno did. All three INTs were bad throws. But hey if a guy can play as well as Mark in his first two starts thats encouraging to me. But some are overlooking a lot of rookie mistakes he did make. The pats often had Mao shadow him thats why he wasn't running much. Once they took that away it revealed how many mistakes the kid makes in the pocket. He really needs to practice his awarness in the pocket. Being "cool and calm" doesn't mean squat if your standing in the pocket too long and getting sacked or forcing passes when you have plenty of time - both of which he did more than once. It could be he just needs more time to adjust to the speed of the game.
I completely disagree regarding Hill. The only reason his stat line is decent is because Geno has to throw the ball to someone and Hill is the beneficiary of many of those throws. Hill leads the team in targets as well so his stats are misleading at best. He only caught half of the balls thrown his way yesterday and also had a key fumble. That's not downside, that's reality. Actually WR is one of the quickest positions in the league to get up to speed at and the biggest improvement a WR makes is from year 1 to year 2. Hill's hands have clearly not improved in Year 2. Nothing else matters at the WR position if you can't hold onto the ball. You could pick up guys off the scrap heap who are much more reliable WR's than Hill. He's a bust for a 2nd round draft pick and the Jets can do way better.
Leon Washington reportedly had some interest from other teams during his week away, including the New York Jets. That was when he was cut by Pats then resigned why didnt we bring him back ?
Like it or not Hill is going to have to be a playmaker for this team. He's not ready to be "the man" yet but has the talent to become one and we need him. The game I watched last night saw him make a couple mistakes as well as a couple of very good plays. I still believe he'll be a gamer sooner rather than later. The bad fumble when watched closely on the replay was a fluke incident - as he fell backwards, the pats defender's heel flipped backwards and kicked the ball out. I can't blame Hill for it, it was a lucky break for the Pats. There was no way Hill saw it coming or could have anticipated or prevented it. Watch it again and look for the kick. I hope they throw deep more to him, not less. Gates on the other hand....
The problem is and no disrespect because I'm a fan myself but this fanbase expects immediate elite production immediately from what I read. Hill needs to learn to make some plays but he came from a run first system in college so this was expected from me. His physical abilities are so elite that if he can practice catching with his hands we have a serious receiver. Sent from my HTCEVODesign4G using Tapatalk 2
Smith threw more than two bad passes. When receivers do contortions to get the ball it is not a good pass. He also chose crunch time to throw his most miserable passes. The bottom line Jets-wise from last night was even with all the drops and the bad passes, they had that game for the taking. Does that mean he can't improve and that his scrambling skills are not a plus? Absolutely not. He just needs to improve his accuracy and decision making (oh is that all?). Interesting how the Geno/Sanchez argument now is "my QB isn't as bad as your QB"
He didn't take 100% of the snaps with these receivers throughout training camp and preseason. Practice is much more important than people give it credit. It's where you learn your receivers speed and tendencies and Geno was splitting that with Sanchez. Brady was off target on a bunch of throws as well and he has superbowl experience Sent from my HTCEVODesign4G using Tapatalk 2
Where are we going? The Jets can be decent this season. Don't expect miracles. Enjoy the improvement if it comes. Talent plus experience equals success. There are no shortcuts. The defense is pretty good but you win in the NFL with offense. Most coaches and GM's know that. It is going to take time to develop a good one especially with a young QB and new receivers.
I agree ive seen a lot worse ,at least we have improvement on our side.. Tbh I thought it was a brave performance last night at 13-3 we looked shafted
