As usual, his press conference was a train wreck. There's just all of this talk about accountability, yet it somehow never actually shows up.
Glenn after the game: "I am not going to waver on my beliefs of what I think wins games in this league." YIKES. Maybe do some wavering there chief.
I'm starting to wonder if he thinks football is scored like golf. If it was, we'd have home field throughout the playoffs.
It's hard to fathom, really. I still have hope something happens in Woody's brain by tomorrow and he pulls the plug. You guy watched the "Inception" movie? We need someone to take on the mission.
Listening to this piece of shit makes me want to puke. I dont think i have EVER seen a man in ANY profession be as Inept at their job as this clown. There is not a single thing you can point at and say he was even average at. A complete failure in every way. The scary part is anyone with half a brain can see this, but unfortunately the owner is not of those people.
Campbell is also a tough guy, he has that in his DNA, spoke about biting knee caps, etc, but on top of that he has the ability to win schematically on offense. So the way he assembled his stuff during successful two years is Ben Johnson who has mastery of schematics, being a nerd, and Glenn, who is a tough rah rah guy. What we got is just the rah rah part, where we are out schemed every time. And the tough guy part does not work on its own. You still need to put players in position to be successful, where toughness matters. In fact it's way more important as it turns out guys like Ben Johnson and Liam Coen are able to put players in successful situation via schematics, and are no pussies either. But you need to be a creative planner 1st and foremost. Glenn just doesn't have that part in him. This tough guy act only goes so far. In today's NFL you need a schematic nerd, who is also not a pushover. You can only win so much with toughness when you are out coached every Sunday in Xs and Os. We are #31 on defense, and he is a defensive coach, setting NFL records of ineptitude. What more do we really need to see here? It the same exact thing as Gase, only worse.
I didn't care much about Campbell's 1st season, he was not with the Jets. We had our own issues as we always do. If you have a point to make about him, go ahead and I can address.
They just put our interception stat on Sunday night football with a graphic of Glenn.... What the actual fuck. We are a national joke!!!!
We are a joke, worse than ever before under this coach. Bart Scott talked about it today post game (below). Maybe that graphic you spoke of is what jolts Woody's dormant brain into action tomorrow.
We will not be as attractive to a potential respectable HC as we are right now. We fuck this up and end up firing Glenn next year we’re going to be a total disaster
You might be right. I still think we played December without a QB, without a WR corps, without starting caliber defenders in almost all positions. Yes it’s the coaches job to get the most out of the players but this was a Herculean task.
I don’t think we know for sure who exactly “controls the roster”. In most teams, yes the GM typically owns the roster and the coach has input but no final say. There have also been cases though where the coach is the final say and the GM defers to the HC for final decision. I’m not so sure that Mougey has final say here…from comments Woody has made, it sounded more like Glenn is the guy, and in Woody’s own words, Mougey is his “sidekick”. My gut tells me that since the two guys are relative newbies in their fields, but Glenn has more years of experience, I think Glenn is the final call… But since none of us are in the room, and since Woody is a certified imbecile, I think it’s impossible to say with certainty how this heirarchy is set up. If I’ve missed some official notice of it, I’ll stand corrected if I’m wrong.
When asked why fans should be encouraged for next season, he said to trust him. Basically there is nothing to point to... He said we are going to work our asses off. Same exact thing as before this season. It's not about just working hard, it is also about being smart and strategic. And we haven't seen that. It's hard to look forward to next year, nothing encouraging, unless he is gone, which looks unlikely.
working hard is not enough. I’m sure he worked this year, but he’s just not capable of the task at hand. No amount of work is going to fix his inadequacies.
