The whole throwback concept is just bullshit. If the old uniforms were so great then why were they changed. Just another money grabbing scam.
That really was a killer. Brand new regime, new era, new decade, they had the #2 overall and fucked it up that bad. Killed them from day one, they never never did get a real impact player in that time, either.
You can look at it cynically if you like , so what , they want to make money ? Its fun and IMO they look good. I'm old , but not old enough to remember seeing them for real , so from that standpoint , Ilike the historical aspect too , not forgetting your roots , even if it does have commercial conotations
agreed. i would switch the current unis back to kelly green, and use gold as a trim color, anog with the green and white. the league imposed the eagle green color on us.
Its sad that with all the money they make already the NFL keeps trying to make more with extra games, charging for preseason games, tv blackouts, and stupid throwback jerseys.
I'm alright with all of those. What has hurt the game the most is adding more teams, switching to flag football rules and, as much as I love the offseason, free agency. EDIT: That and ESPN, obviously.
Yeah I'd much prefer to see actual Jets throwbacks. The Titans jerseys are putrid, so fuckin ugly....

You guys sound worse than a bunch a girls talking about what to wear for the prom. The Jets have uniforms. They are fine - actually among the best in the league. Throwbacks are a money-making joke. If fans are so concerned about getting ripped off with regard to parking, tickets etc., why not complain about having to figure out what color jerseys the Jets will wear each week? The Titans jerseys are butt ugly and, for a team that has played for 50 years, to wear jerseys that the team wore for the first two non-descript years is a joke.

I'm with you, I don't like those uni's, but I do think they should use them as throw backs. But, I also like the Titans uni's, they should use each once every season.
i remember this as well. i dont have any proof but i remember hearing about it the year that we switched colors. it was one of those everyone has to have the same color green, everyone has to have 2 different shades of blue. everyone has to have the same color red. the reason they did it was for reebok or whoever was making the uniforms at the time, they wanted them to be able to stock the shit and not have to find all these different colors so they could make more jerseys of suck ass players. back in the day there was one or 2 guys per team that you could really get a jersey for, the rest of the team they didnt make them because it was too expensive. you could actually have trouble finding any jersey from certain teams because the colors were too "weird". so like the good scumbag corporation they are the nfl made teams change their uniforms. well their colors. this was sometime mid 90s if my memory serves me correctly.
I like the Titan unis, We seem to win in them. However the poster that noted the team wearing a throwback for its first two non-descript years makes a good point. The throwbacks are only about making money, but I hope they NEVER go back to the 80's uniforms.
