The only thing I like about the All-Star game and all of its stupid celebrity bullshit at this point is watching players answer the inevitable question: "So how do you feel being voted to/starting on the All-Star team?" While the answer is always: "It's a great honor, and it feels really good to be recognized" you can always see the look on their faces saying "Damnit, I should be home like everybody else right now chillin' by the pool." You could see Halladay last night wanted to say "Why the hell do I have to start this crap?" Imagine he throws great, gets the win, then gets traded to the NL team that makes the World Series?
^ Yeah...all the older players want is to be poolside or with the fam. The younger players are the ones with the video cameras, etc. and want to be there. Although, that said...if you really didn't want to be there, you could fake an injury which A) Lets another guy go and B) You still get credit for being an All-Star AND you get to rest...
Heh, Maddon's reason for hitting Longoria 4th instead of Bay is that Longoria has more RBI. Might want to check the prescription on those stupid glasses Joe.
Yeah, but image matters. Think about it. What if Jeter said "Yeah, I can't play, even though I'm the top vote getter. I unfortunately got hurt the other day." Then he plays Friday. Or Halladay says "Yeah, I can't start. Still a little sore." Makes it a little harder to trade him for proper value if he's hurt twice in a month. The whole thing is just a big joke. Do it after the season if you insist on doing it. And it shouldn't count for anything, especially not home field advantage for the World Series.
Well, I was an AL fan all along. I didn't just jump on the badwagon. You can ask any of my friends and they'll you I've been there all along!
You guys all disgust me. Your message board bullying made his life a living hell. You insult his sister, AND his girl, and at the same time you have the audacity to doubt TEH MOTHERFUCKING RAYS!111!. You people are sick.
Longoria scratched with an infected finger. Chone Figgins added to the roster, Michael Young to start at 3B.
yeah a few could play it in a pinch, but not sure if Maddon will want to do that. Too bad Young is starting. I would've used him as a backup 2B. It's probably been a while since a team did not have a backup at a specific position.
"One of the Greatest Baseball Cities the World has Ever Known" Enough. We get it. What a shitty city.
I've been to St. Louis and I loved it. Great city. They do that intro for every city. Anyway, the Rays are so young and talented! Look at how many players they have on the team! This proves what I was saying all along. Rays going all the way, baby! Ima post a pic of me in my pimped out Rays jersey when we win the World Series. I just spit a hot freestyle FLow, 5 mins, one take-PhiLLy-Stacks. Its not finished yet but Ill post the whole thing in October, baby! Da Rays are da best better then all da rest Rays to the World Series DWC their best fan he is just the man his gf has a nice can all da hatas will see he is the best their will ever be RAYS RAYS RAYS! ps- yeah I would totally blow Evan. Hook me up!
Figgins has over 100 games played at second so I'm sure he'd be fine. I'm really curious as to what Maddon has against Kinsler though, passing him over twice when he was the logical choice. By the way, terrible job by Fox on the first pitch. The only thing remotely interesting about those is seeing where it goes and they showed it at some shitty angle where the plate wasn't even visible.
Undoubtedly requested by our President who wasnt sure if he could even reach home plate. Thats what the warm up pitches he took were for.
