Dont need to make a splash in the offseason, ask the Eagles. You need to make a splash in the regular season, ask the Giants.
This is the first move that pisses me off. We coulda got a TE that we DESPERATELY need for a great price. Either this means the FO is content with having shitty TEs that dont fit the mold, or theyre banking on signing Fasano. I really hope this means were gonna sign (and that the Fins cut) Fasano
So far we haven't done anything but no real targets we would have been signing are gone. Except maybe Campbell as backup QB, that wouldn't have been a bad move...although I didn't see the financials on it so maybe it's crazy expensive. For now I wouldn't panic. If a few of the safeties start to go and we're down to mediocre receivers then it might be time to panic...but we weren't in the market for most of the guys who signed.
I'd imagine Schilens will sign tonight. Very rare for a player to get the Florham Park tour and not sign.
No need for the Jets to make a big splash, but I wouldn't mind them starting to fill some holes. Like most, I'm just impatient. I'm sure they will be fine.
Does anyone know if teams can continue to carry over cap space into future years or if that particular maneuver was due to the CBA agreement being formed last season?
Holy shit some of you people need Ritalin. Re-fucking-lax ..we have like 10m to work with after rookies get signed. We CAN'T AFFORD to go ape shit. The Skins go ape shit every year and always suck balls so use that as an example. If we pick up a safety and some o line depth then I'll be satisfied. Also can we stop this shit with the "we need a good cover safety to beat the Pats". How many good cover safetys are in the NFL period let alone available free agents. All that being said ...we suck and will be lucky to win 2 games this year. Fire Rex, fire tanny, fire sprano...move the team to LA
2009 when we beat the Pats in the regular season we had a very good cover safety who we traded. In 2010 when we beat the Pats in the playoffs we had a very good cover safety who we traded in the off season.
Granted...but everyone including the players hated his guts...at least that's how it seemed. My point was just that there isn't a ton of those guys around
we just need at least 1 black safety lol.. all joking aside, I think Reggie Nelson (or Landry) should be a must sign right now. And then we dont have to reach for Barron in the 1st round.... thats all im asking for
Here's my thoughts, assuming the jets can carry over cap space again next season, they will have more pressing needs and flexibility. For example there will be extra dead weight cut and our own weapons that will need extensions. So staying in place this year may setup next.
Jason La Canfora @JasonLaCanfora Risposta Retweet Preferiti · Apri Giants have a TE, Martellus Bennett, on a 1yr, $2.5M deal #freeagency Fuck, that's cheap... I wanted him for the Jets... he would've been useful!
If the Jets were interested in a TE dont you think they would of at least LOOKED into the idea of signing one by now ? I mean theyve expressed interest in several safeties, wrs, and qbs. Yet the 2 best TEs on the market both came and went without a thing, and Dreessen sounds soon to follow.
