AVT Done for the Season

There are 10 games left. It's reasonable to believe that they can split them, going 10-7, maybe making the playoffs, which is beyond my best expectation (and most people's here), while I think developing Zach would be a good thing, I'm certain that Saleh & Co. are focused on winning and trying to make the playoffs. The good news is that Zach can certainly learn and develop while they do this.

 

Yep, the Broncos were definitely headhunting yesterday. It's borderline criminal and the league needs to come down on them, and the refs for not flagging it.

 

Imagine if that Zach cartwheel sack/flail play had ended up being ruled a fumble (or whatever little change in the game) and we'd ended up losing by some scrubby field goal or something in addition to losing Hall and AVT?

As bad as this is I can't even imagine if we'd lost ugly on top of it.

 

Agreed. That was a really dumb decision by Zach. No excuses for that.

 

You're not going far enough. It's our two best offensive players.

 

Time to get our OTHER great player, GARRETT WILSON, involved more. I dont believe Max Mitchell will be back this season, but Fant will.

 

I saw that when it happened. He looks around for a flag, that should have been thrown. Unnecessary piling on shit. He coulda got wrecked bad from that.

crazy….I get injuries but when they are concentrated on one position group it’s really hard

and then losing Hall on top of that…our best offensive players are down now

and AVT will hurt just as much as Hall I think

 

Sliver lining (thin sliver!): injuries force changes in starting lineup that (sometimes) leads to new found talents.

Case in point: if not for Fant/Brown injured, we'd never have known how good Max Mitchell was, straight out of college.

We may never have known AVT can play both guard AND both tackle spots.

Overcoming both Hall and AVT is nearly impossible, but let's give JD/Saleh a chance.

Honestly I'm sure who is the worst loss? Breece is great and was definitely going to win OROY as far as I'm concerned but AVT might be the best player on the team? His versatility was so valuable. Both will be missed but AVT imo is the biggest loss....

 

wow i just heard about this. Just lost what may be our best 2 players on offense if not the whole team. As good as Breece has been I think losing AVT is going to have a much bigger impact. If you thought Zach was running for his life before...

 

Just thinking about losing AVT for the year and what it meant. Yes he could play tackle but was moving him there the cause of his injury? I didn't see him leave the game tbh
